Pilate said to him, "You are a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say what I ama king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."
They came up to him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" and struck him with their hands.
So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, "Behold the man!"
Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
After this Josnt of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body.
And Nicodemus, who had at first come to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.
So she ran, and came to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him."
Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,
On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."
Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.
Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, "Peace be with you!"
But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, but about a hundred yards off.
When they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, with fish lying on it, and bread.
Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." Now none of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.
Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.
Jesus said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me."
Then the saying spread among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?"
So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth."
They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched him go into heaven."
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
And at this sound the crowd came together, and they were bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.
The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come.
Repent therefore, and turn again, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

And someone came and told them, "Look! The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people."

And the voice came to him again a second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call common."
Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason you have come?"
They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house, and to hear what you have to say."
So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. I ask then why you sent for me."
So I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord."
All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.
"I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, something descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came down to me.
