"Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.'

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."

When Jesus heard him, he marveled, and said to those who followed him, "Truly, I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.

Then to the centurion Jesus said, "Go; be it done for you as you have believed." And his servant was healed at that very hour.

Now when Jesus saw great crowds around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side.

Then a certain scribe came and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."

When he had come to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met him, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way.

And he said to them, "Go." So they came out and went into the swine; and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and perished in the water.

And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven."

But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"he then said to the paralytic"Rise, take up your bed and go home."

And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"

But when Jesus heard it, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

For she said to herself, "If I only touch his garment, I shall be made well."

When he had entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to him, "Yes, Lord."

and said to him, "Are you the One who is to come, or shall we look for another?"

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, "Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath."

He said to them, "Have you not read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him:

He said to them, "What man of you, if he has one sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?

Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers!

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea.

And great crowds gathered around him, so that he got into a boat and sat there; and the whole crowd stood on the shore.

Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A sower went out to sow his seed.

But he who received the seed on rocky places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;

But the one who received seed on the good soil is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

Another parable he put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;

And the servants of the householder came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then has it weeds?'

He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Then do you want us to go and gather them up?'

But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the weeds you also root up the wheat with them.

Another parable he put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field;

which, when it was full, they drew it up on the shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.

Jesus asked, "Have you understood all these things?" "Yes," they said to him.

And he said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has been instructed for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old."

And coming to his own country he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works?

And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house."

and he said to his servants, "This is John the Baptist, he has risen from the dead; that is why these powers are at work in him."

When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food."

They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish."

Then he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave them to the multitudes.

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the multitudes.

So he said, "Come". Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus and said,

And he called the people to him and said to them, "Hear and understand:

Then the disciples came and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?"
