But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine, That the aged men be vigilant, serious, prudent, sound in faith, love, patience: That the aged women in like manner, be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things: read more.
That they instruct the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their chidren, Discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. The young men likewise exhort to be discreet, In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works, in doctrine, uncorruptness, seriousness, Sound speech that cannot be reproved; that he who is on the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us. Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, to please them in all things, not answering again, Not stealing, but shewing all good fidelity, that they may in all things adorn the gospel of God our Saviour. For the saving grace of God hath appeared to all men, Teaching us, that, having renounced ungodliness and all wordly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present world, Looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God, even our Saviour Jesus Christ. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak and exhort, and rebuke with all authority: let no man despise thee.

Finally, Be ye all of one mind, sympathizing with each other, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are called to this, to inherit a blessing. For he that loveth life and desireth to see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips, that they speak no guile: read more.
Let him turn from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God. For ye have not received the Spirit of bondage again unto fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The same Spirit beareth witness with our spirits, that we are the children of God. read more.
And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ: if we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

Therefore I suffer all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is through Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: if we are dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him:

And to the angel of the church of Smyrna write, These things saith the First and the Last, who was dead and is alive. I know thy affliction and poverty, (but thou art rich) and the reviling of those who say they are Jews and are not, but a synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou art about to suffer: behold the devil is about to cast some of you into prison that ye may be tried, and ye shall have affliction ten days: Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them; and I saw the souls of them who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the wild beast nor his image, neither had received the mark on their forehead or on their hand; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. The rest of the dead lived not again till the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Happy and holy is he that hath a part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

But whatsoever things were gain to me, those I have accounted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I account all things to be loss, for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do account them but dung, that I may gain Christ, And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith: read more.
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death:

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But even if ye do suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye; and be not afraid of their terror, neither be ye troubled, But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: read more.
And be always ready to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience, that whereas they speak against you as evil doers, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.
