Greater love has no man than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you. I no longer call you servants, because the servant knows not what his master does. But I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you. You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you, that you may go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit may remain; that whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he may give you. These things I command you, that you may love one another. If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word which I spoke to you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you on my account, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He that hates me, hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no other man has done, they would have had no sin; but now they have both seen, and hated both me and my Father. But this is so, that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. In like manner, also, the Spirit helps our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes for us, with groanings unutterable. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, that he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him. But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be ensnared. They will put you out of the synagogues; in deed, the time is coming, when he that kills you, will think that he is offering service to God. And these things they will do, because they know neither the Father nor me. read more.

Now, confidence such as this we have, through the Christ, toward God; not that we are able, of ourselves, to devise any thing, as from ourselves; but our ability is from God, who has made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of letter, but. of spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit makes alive.

The God of our fathers has raised up Jesus, whom you slew by hanging him on a tree. Him has God exalted to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, in order to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins: and we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit also, whom God has given to them that obey him.

And now, behold, I am going, bound in spirit, to Jerusalem, not knowing what shall befall me there, except that in every city the Holy Spirit testifies to me, saying, That bonds and afflictions await me.

For this reason, I Paul, the prisoner of the Christ Jesus on account of you Gentiles, if, indeed, you have heard of the stewardship of the grace of God, which was given to me for your benefit, that by revelation was made known to me the mystery, (as I briefly wrote above, read more.
