21 Bible Verses about Chastity

For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false-witnessings, blasphemies:

but that we write to them to abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from anything strangled, and from blood;

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

But I have a few things against you, because you have there those holding the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol-sacrifices, and to commit fornication.

and they repented not of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornications, nor of their thefts.

As in the day, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkenness, not in lewdness and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy;

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becomes saints;

For this is the will of God??ven your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication;

I wrote to you, in my letter, not to keep company with fornicators; not at all meaning, with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or idolaters; since ye ought, in that event, to go out of the world; but, as it is, I wrote not to keep company, if anyone, called a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner??ith such a one, not even to eat.

Flee fornication. Every sin which a man commits is without the body; but he that commits adultery sins against his own body. Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom ye have from God, and that ye are not your own? For ye were bought with a price; glorify God, therefore, in your body.

But flee youthful desires; and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those calling upon the Lord out of a pure heart.

Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly desires, which, indeed, war against the soul;

And I saw, and, behold, the Lamb, standing on the mount Zion, and with Him a hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name, and the name of His Father, written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice out of Heaven, as a voice of many waters, and as a voice of great thunder; and the voice which I heard was as that of harpers, harping with their harps. These are those who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, a first fruit to God and to the Lamb.

But, if they have not continency let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn.

And the Pharisees, corning to Him, were asking Him, "Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife!" tempting Him. And He, answering, said to them, "What did Moses command you?" And they said, "Moses permitted to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away."read more.

And He saith to them, "Whosoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her; and, if she herself, having put away her husband, marries another, she commits adultery."

"Ye heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery;' but I say to you, that every one who looks upon a woman, to lust after her, already committed adultery with her in his heart.

You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
