my father has instructed me in every thing: and no one knoweth the son, except the father: nor does any one know the father, except the son, and he to whom the son is pleased to reveal him."
(as the father and I are known to one another:) and I lay down my life for them.

for the word of God is active and efficacious, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even to the division of soul and spirit, to the smallest and most inward parts, distinguishing the thoughts, and intentions of the heart. so that there is not a creature that is concealed from his view: but all is naked and open to the eyes of him of whom we speak. Having then so great a high priest,
him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by means of the wicked, have crucified and slain: whom God hath raised up,
but thus it is that God has accomplished what he had foretold by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer.
for it was truly against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, that Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, united themselves in this city, to effect what thy power and thy wisdom pre-determined to be done.
for whom he before approv'd, he predispos'd to follow the example of his son, who was to conduct them all as their elder brother;
God hath not discarded his people whom he formerly approv'd. don't you know what the scripture says of Elias? how he complain'd to God against Israel,
to sanctify them by his spirit, that by their obedience they might be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ. may the divine savour make you continually prosper.

in the day, when according to my gospel, God shall judge the secret actions of men by Jesus Christ.
therefore suspend your judgment till the Lord comes, who will bring to light the secrets of darkness, and expose the counsels of mens hearts: and then shall every man have his due reward from God.
however, the foundation of the divine architect is still immoveable, having this inscription, " the Lord discerns who are his." and, " let every one that invokes the name of the Lord, depart from iniquity."
or rather that you are favoured by him, how can ye turn again to the weak and beggarly elements of the law, to which you desire again to be in bondage?
Hereby we shall know that we are true professors, and set our consciences securely at rest. for if our conscience condemn us, God knows us better than we do our selves, he knoweth all things.
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for tho' few in number, you have kept my word, and have not renounced my name.
and he that penetrates into the heart approves what the spirit desires, because what he demands for the saints is agreeable to the divine will.
that your alms may be secret: and your father who sees your secret actions, shall reward you.
