For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornications, theft, false witness, slander.
For from within, out of the heart of men, come evil thoughts, fornications, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.
We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin. I do not understand what I do. For I do not do what I want to do, but I do what I hate.
for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
But the Scripture has bound everyone under sin, so that that what was promised by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

"Not every one who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
And he said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments."
I am speaking in human terms, because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you once yielded your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for holiness.
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge, and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, perseverance, and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love.
Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by him in peace, spotless and blameless.
What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet."
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand the things freely given to us by God. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; but you know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weakened through the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin: he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling with his blood: may grace and peace be yours in abundance.
His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and excellence.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man. And God is faithful, who will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to Godthrough Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I of myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
For I am confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
so that he may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
But according to his promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil, and will throw them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
But as for the cowardly, the unbelieving, the immoral, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their lot will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."
Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
