'Mercy' in the Bible
"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Go and learn what this saying means: 'I want mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"
If you had known what this means: 'I want mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.
A Canaanite woman from that area came and cried out, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is horribly demon-possessed!"
and said, "Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water.
Should you not have shown mercy to your fellow slave, just as I showed it to you?'
Two blind men were sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, "Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David!"
The crowd scolded them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!"
"Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You give a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you neglect what is more important in the law -- justice, mercy, and faithfulness! You should have done these things without neglecting the others.
But Jesus did not permit him to do so. Instead, he said to him, "Go to your home and to your people and tell them what the Lord has done for you, that he had mercy on you."
When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Many scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.
He has done this to show mercy to our ancestors, and to remember his holy covenant --
Because of our God's tender mercy the dawn will break upon us from on high
The expert in religious law said, "The one who showed mercy to him." So Jesus said to him, "Go and do the same."
So he called out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in anguish in this fire.'
raised their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."
So he called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
For he says to Moses: "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
So then, it does not depend on human desire or exertion, but on God who shows mercy.
So then, God has mercy on whom he chooses to have mercy, and he hardens whom he chooses to harden.
And what if he is willing to make known the wealth of his glory on the objects of mercy that he has prepared beforehand for glory --
Just as you were formerly disobedient to God, but have now received mercy due to their disobedience,
so they too have now been disobedient in order that, by the mercy shown to you, they too may now receive mercy.
For God has consigned all people to disobedience so that he may show mercy to them all.
if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.
and thus the Gentiles glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, "Because of this I will confess you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praises to your name."
With regard to the question about people who have never married, I have no command from the Lord, but I give my opinion as one shown mercy by the Lord to be trustworthy.
Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, we do not become discouraged.
And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God.

save others by snatching them out of the fire; have mercy on others, coupled with a fear of God, hating even the clothes stained by the flesh.
