Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt: Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”
The people grumbled to Moses, “What are we going to drink?”
He said, “If you will carefully obey the Lord your God, do what is right in His eyes, pay attention to His commands, and keep all His statutes, I will not inflict any illnesses on you that I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am Yahweh who heals you.”
On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather on other days.”
When the Israelites saw it, they asked one another, “What is it?” because they didn’t know what it was.
Moses told them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.
This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Gather as much of it as each person needs to eat. You may take two quarts
He told them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath
Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Two quarts
Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What should I do with these people? In a little while they will stone me!”
When Moses’ father-in-law saw everything he was doing for them he asked, “What is this thing you’re doing for the people? Why are you alone sitting as judge, while all the people stand around you from morning until evening?”
“What you’re doing is not good,” Moses’ father-in-law said to him.
Instruct them about the statutes and laws, and teach them the way to live and what they must do.
Moses went up the mountain to God, and the Lord called
‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Me.
Then the Lord told Moses, “This is what you are to say to the Israelites: You have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.
If what was stolen—whether ox, donkey, or sheep—is actually found alive in his possession, he must repay double.
“When a fire gets out of control, spreads to thornbushes, and consumes stacks of cut grain, standing grain, or a field, the one who started the fire must make full restitution for what was burned.
For it is his only covering; it is the clothing for his body.
But during the seventh year you are to let it rest and leave it uncultivated, so that the poor among your people may eat from it and the wild animals may consume what they leave. Do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove.

“This is what you are to do for them to consecrate them to serve Me as priests. Take a young bull and two unblemished rams,
If any of the meat of ordination or any of the bread is left until morning, burn up what is left over. It must not be eaten because it is holy.
“This is what you are to do for Aaron and his sons based on all I have commanded you. Take seven days to ordain them.
“This is what you are to offer regularly on the altar every day: two year-old lambs.
When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god
Then Moses asked Aaron, “What did these people do to you that you have led them into such a grave sin?”
They said to me, ‘Make us a god
He told them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says, ‘Every man fasten his sword to his side; go back and forth through the camp from entrance to entrance, and each of you kill his brother, his friend, and his neighbor.’”
And the Lord inflicted a plague on the people for what they did with the calf Aaron had made.
For the Lord said to Moses: “Tell the Israelites: You are a stiff-necked people. If I went with you for a single moment, I would destroy you. Now take off your jewelry, and I will decide what to do with you.”
And the Lord responded: “Look, I am making a covenant. I will perform wonders in the presence of all your people
Observe what I command you today. I am going to drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites,
But whenever Moses went before the Lord to speak with Him, he would remove the veil until he came out. After he came out, he would tell the Israelites what he had been commanded,
Then Moses said to the entire Israelite community, “This is what the Lord has commanded:
They were paired at the bottom and joined together
“Now if the whole community of Israel

Or if someone swears rashly
once he has sinned

But what remains of the sacrificial meat by the third day must be burned up.
Moses said to them, “This is what the Lord has commanded to be done.”
You must burn up what remains of the meat and bread.

If you wonder: ‘What will we eat in the seventh year if we don’t sow or gather our produce?’

Moses replied to them, “Wait here until I hear what the Lord commands for you.”
The Lord answered Moses, “Is the Lord’s power limited?

If there is a prophet among you from the Lord,
I make Myself known to him in a vision;
I speak with him in a dream.
See what the land is like, and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many.
They placed him in custody because it had not been decided what should be done to him.
But you and your sons will carry out your priestly responsibilities for everything concerning the altar and for what is inside the veil, and you will do that work. I am giving you the work of the priesthood as a gift,
Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, “This is what your brother Israel

“What have you done to me?” Balak asked Balaam. “I brought you to curse my enemies, but look, you have only blessed them!”
He answered, “Shouldn’t I say exactly what the Lord puts in my mouth?”
The Lord met with Balaam and put a message in his mouth. Then He said, “Return to Balak and say what I tell you.”
So he returned to Balak, who was standing there by his burnt offering with the officials of Moab. Balak asked him, “What did the Lord say?”
Balaam proclaimed his poem:
son of Zippor, pay attention to what I say!
and no divination against Israel.
It will now be said about Jacob and Israel,
“What great things God has done!”
Now I am going back to my people, but first, let me warn you what these people will do to your people in the future.”
“What Zelophehad’s daughters say is correct. You are to give them hereditary property among their father’s brothers and transfer their father’s inheritance to them.
