He evidently saw in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius!
On the morrow, while they were on their journey, and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the top of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.
And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a righteous man, and one that feareth God, and of a good character among all the nation of the Jews, hath been warned from God by an holy angel, to send for thee to his house, and to hear what thou shalt say.
And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting till this hour, and at the ninth hour I was praying in my house, when behold a man stood before me in bright raiment,
Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast done well that thou art come. And now we are all here present before God, to hear all the things which God hath charged thee with to us.
And they said to her, Thou art mad: but she confidently affirmed that it was so. Then said they, It is his angel.
Who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an understanding man: who calling for Barnabas and Saul, desired to hear the word of God.

(Now all the Athenians, and strangers sojourning among them, spent their time in nothing else, but to tell or to hear something new.)

But if any one think that he acts unbecomingly towards his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and that it ought to be so, let him do what he will; he doth not sin: let them marry.
So that he, who giveth her in marriage, doth well; but he, that giveth her not in marriage, doth better.
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth: but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord:
But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoureth man her head; for it is even all one as if she were shaved.
For if a woman be not covered, she may as well be shorn: but if it be shameful to a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.
For this reason ought the woman to have power on her head, because of the angels.
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man have long hair, it is a disgrace to him?
but if a woman have long hair it is a glory to her; because the hair was given her as for a veil.
For first when ye come together in the church, I hear there are divisions among you, and I partly believe it.

Now as long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a servant, though he is to be lord of all:
