All this happened in fulfilment of what the Lord said through the prophet,

They said, "At Bethlehem in Judea, for this is what the prophet wrote:

to fulfil what the Lord said by the prophet, "I called my son from Egypt."

Then the saying was fulfilled which was uttered by the prophet Jeremiah,

It was he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, when he said, "Hark! Someone is shouting in the desert, 'Get the Lord's way ready! Make his paths straight!' "

in fulfilment of what was said by the prophet Isaiah,

in fulfilment of the words of the prophet Isaiah, "He took our sickness and carried away our diseases."

Whoever welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet will have the same reward as a prophet, and whoever welcomes an upright man because he is upright will have the same reward as an upright man.

Then why did you go out there? Was it to see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet!

??n fulfilment of what was said by the prophet Isaiah,

But he answered, "Only a wicked and faithless age insists upon a sign, and no sign will be given it but the sign of the prophet Jonah.

to fulfil what was said by the prophet, "I will open my mouth in figures, I will utter things that have been hidden since the creation."

And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is treated with honor everywhere except in his native place and at his home."

And while he wanted him killed, he was afraid of the people; for they considered him a prophet.

Now this happened in fulfilment of what was said by the prophet,

The crowd answered, "It is Jesus, the prophet of Nazareth in Galilee!"

But if we say, 'From men,' we have the people to fear, for they all consider John a prophet."

and they wanted to have him arrested, but they were afraid of the people, for the people considered him a prophet.

"So when you see the dreadful desecration, of which the prophet Daniel spoke, set up in the Holy Place"??he reader must take note of this??16 "then those who are in Judea must fly to the hills;

saying, "Show us you are a prophet, you Christ! Who was it that struck you?"

So the words spoken by the prophet Jeremiah were fulfilled: "They took the thirty silver pieces, the price of the one whose price had been fixed, on whom some of the Israelites had set a price,

As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, "Here I send my messenger on before you; He will prepare your way;

But others said he was Elijah, and still others that he was a prophet of the old prophetic kind.

Yet can we say, 'It was from men'?" For they were afraid of the people, because all the people thought John was really a prophet.

Then what did you go out there to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet!

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were really a prophet, he would know who and what the woman is who is touching him, for she leads a wicked life."

But I must go on today and tomorrow and the next day, for it is not right for a prophet to die outside Jerusalem.'

The woman said to him, "I see that you are a prophet, sir.

for he himself declared that a prophet is not honored in his own country.

When the people saw the signs that he showed, they said, "This is really the Prophet who was to come into the world!"

So some of the people, when they heard these words, said, "This is certainly the Prophet!"

They answered, "Are you from Galilee too? Study and you will find that no prophet is to appear from Galilee."

So they asked the blind man again, "What have you to say about him, because he has made you able to see?" He said, "He is a prophet!"

in fulfilment of the saying of the prophet Isaiah, "Lord, who has believed our account? And to whom has the Lord's mighty arm been unveiled?"

But this is what was predicted by the prophet Joel,

But as he was a prophet, and knew that God had promised him with an oath that he would put one of his descendants upon his throne,

Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, as he raised me up. You must listen to everything that he tells you.

Anyone that will not listen to that prophet will be annihilated from among the people.'

This was the Moses who said to the descendants of Israel, 'God will make a prophet rise from among your brothers to teach you, just as he made me rise.'

But the Most High does not live in buildings made by human hands. As the prophet says,

and was on his way home. He was sitting in his car, reading the prophet Isaiah.

Philip ran up and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and he said to him, "Do you understand what you are reading?"

and the devil who led them astray was flung into the fiery, sulphurous lake, where the animal and the false prophet were, there to be tortured day and night forever and ever.
