About this time went one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, to the chief priests, and said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver Him to you? and they promised him thirty pieces of silver: and from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

Then Judas, who had betrayed Him, when he saw that He was condemned, being struck with remorse, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood: but they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Therefore said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, who was about to betray Him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor? He said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the common purse he carried what was put into it.

and the son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, and deliver Him up to the gentiles, to insult, and to scourge, and to crucify Him. But on the third day He shall rise again.

but He replied and said unto them, This wicked and degenerate race demand a sign; but no sign shall be given them, except that of the prophet Jonah: for as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed at it, and afraid to follow Him. And He took the twelve with Him and said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For He shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and insulted, and abused, and spit upon, and they will scourge Him, and put Him to death: and the third day He shall rise again.

I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen: but have done it that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift up his heel against me. And I tell you now, before it come, that when it comes to pass ye may believe that I am the Messiah. Jesus having said these things was troubled in spirit, and He openly testified and said, Verily, verily I tell you, that one of you will betray me. The disciples therefore looked on one another, doubting of whom He spake. Now there was one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, sitting next Him. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him to ask, who it was concerning whom He spake. And he, reclining on the breast of Jesus, saith unto Him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, It is he to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it: and He dipped in a sop and gave it to Judas the Iscariot the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entred into him. Then Jesus saith unto him, What thou dost, do quickly.

Simon Peter saith unto Him, Lord, whither art thou going? Jesus answered him, Whither I am going thou canst not follow me now, but thou shalt follow me hereafter. Peter saith unto Him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? And He said, Go into the city, to such a man, and tell him, The master saith, my time is near, I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples: and the disciples did as Jesus ordered them, and prepared the passover. read more.

And on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the paschal lamb, his disciples said to Him, Where wouldst thou have us go and make preparation for thee to eat of the paschal lamb? And He sendeth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go into the city, and there will meet you a man carrying a pitcher of water: follow him, and where he goes in, say to the man of the house, The master inquireth, Where is the room, in which I may eat the passover with my disciples? read more.
And he will shew you a large upper room ready prepared, there make preparation for us. And his disciples went out, and came into the city, and found every thing as He told them; and so prepared the passover. And in the evening He cometh with the rest of the twelve. And He said unto them, This is an emblem of my blood the seal of the new covenant, which is to be shed for many: and I assure you, that I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine, till the day when I shall drink it new in the kingdom of God.

The day of unleavened bread being come, on which the paschal-lamb was to be slain, Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat of it. And they said unto Him, Where wouldst thou have us prepare it? read more.

And He took bread, and gave thanks and brake it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me: as also the cup after supper, saying, This cup represents the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.
