And if you belong to Christ, then you are real descendants of Abraham, and heirs in accordance with the promise made to him.

Then the upright will shine out like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Let him who has ears listen!

and if children, then also heirs, heirs of God and fellow-heirs with Christ if in reality we share His sufferings, so that we may share His glory too.

So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir by God's own act.

Dearly beloved, we are now God's children, but what we are going to be has not been unveiled. We know that if it is unveiled, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in him tries to make himself as pure as He is.

For those on whom He set His heart beforehand He marked off as His own to be made like His Son, that He might be the eldest of many brothers;

He foreordained us to become His sons by adoption through Christ Jesus, to carry out the happy choice of His will,

in union with whom we were made God's portion, since we had been foreordained in accordance with the purpose of Him who in everything carries out the plan of His will,

that the heathen through union with Christ Jesus are fellow-heirs with the Jews, are members with them of the same body, and sharers with them of the promise through the good news,

even us whom He has called, not only from among the Jews but from among the heathen too? Just as He says in Hosea: "I will call a people that was not mine, my people, and her who was not beloved, my beloved, And in the place where it was said, 'You are no people of mine,' they shall be called sons of the living God."

But whenever you, follower of mine, pray, you must go to your most private place, shut the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.

"Take care not to do your good deeds in public, to attract the attention of people; if you do, you will get no reward from your Father in heaven. So whenever you do your deeds of charity, never blow your own horn in public, as the hypocrites are in the habit of doing in the synagogues and on the street corners, to be praised by the people. I solemnly say to you, they already have their reward. But whenever you, a follower of mine, do a deed of charity, never let your own left hand know what your right hand is doing, read more.
so that your deed of charity may be secret, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.

so that your fasting may be seen, not by men but by your Father who is unseen, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.

So that the rest of mankind may earnestly seek the Lord, Yes, all the heathen who are called by my name, says the Lord,

For all nature is expectantly waiting for the unveiling of the sons of God.

Not only that but this too, we ourselves who enjoy the Spirit as a foretaste of the future, even we ourselves, keep up our inner groanings while we wait to enter upon our adoption as God's sons at the redemption of our bodies.

Dearly beloved, we are now God's children, but what we are going to be has not been unveiled. We know that if it is unveiled, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.

For they are Israelites; to them belong the privileges of sonship, God's glorious presence, the special covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, the promises,

So it is conditioned on faith, that it might be in accordance with God's unmerited favor, so that the promise might be in force for all the descendants of Abraham, not only for those who belong to the law party but also for those who belong to the faith group of Abraham. He is the father of us all, as the Scripture says, "I have made you the father of many nations." That is, the promise is in force in the sight of God in whom he put his faith, the God who can bring the dead to life and can call to Himself the things that do not exist as though they did.

When he was exposed, Pharaoh's daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own son. Thus

By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as a son of Pharaoh's daughter,

But I tell you, practice loving your enemies and praying for your persecutors, to prove that you are sons of your Father in heaven, for He makes His sun rise on bad as well as good people, and makes the rain come down on doers of right and of wrong alike.

So you, my followers, ought to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is."

So you see, it is the men of faith who are the real descendants of Abraham.

For all of you are sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to me so, for I have not yet gone up to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them that I am going up to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."

For both He who is purifying them and those who are being purified all spring from one Father; so He is not ashamed to call them brothers, when He says: "I will announce your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise";

For you do not have a sense of servitude to fill you with dread again, but the consciousness of adopted sons by which we cry, "Abba," that is, "Father."

And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, "Abba," that is, "Father."

And if you belong to Christ, then you are real descendants of Abraham, and heirs in accordance with the promise made to him.

That is, it is not Abraham's natural descendants who are God's children, but those who are made children by the promise are counted his true descendants.

But to all who did accept Him, and trust in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God,

but when the proper time had come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born subject to law, to ransom those who were subject to law, so that we might be adopted as sons.

So this is the way you must pray: Our Father in heaven, Your name be revered.

But to all who did accept Him, and trust in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God,

See what wonderful love the Father has bestowed on us in letting us be called God's children, and that is what we are! This is why the world does not know what we are, because it has never come to know Him.

I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters of mine,' The Lord Almighty said."

So I tell you, stop worrying about your life, as to what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body, as to what you will have to wear. Is not life worth more than food and the body worth more than clothes? Take a good look at the wild birds, for they do not sow or reap, or store up food in barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps on feeding them. Are you not worth more than they? But which of you by worrying can add a single minute to his life? read more.
And why should you worry about clothes? Look at the wild lilies and learn how they grow. They do not toil or spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon, in all his gorgeous splendor, was ever dressed up like a single one of these. Now if God so gorgeously dresses the wild grass which today is green but tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you with little faith? So never worry and say, 'What are we going to have to eat? What are we going to have to drink? What are we going to have to wear?' For the heathen are greedily pursuing all such things; and surely your heavenly Father well knows that you need them all. But as your first duty keep on looking for His standard of doing right, and for His will, and then all these things will be yours besides. So never worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries of its own. Each day has evil enough of its own."

"Keep on asking, and the gift will be given you; keep on seeking, and you will find; keep on knocking, and the door will open to you. For everyone who keeps on asking, receives, and everyone who keeps on seeking, finds, and to the one who keeps on knocking, the door will open. What human father among you, when his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? read more.
Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake? So if you, in spite of your being bad, know how to give your children what is good, how much more surely will your heavenly Father give what is good to those who keep on asking Him?

Let your light shine before people in such a way that they may see your good deeds, and praise your Father in heaven.

"For if you forgive others their shortcomings your heavenly Father will forgive you, too.

But you must practice loving your enemies, doing good to them, and lending to them, despairing of nothing; so that your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Continue to be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

But to all who did accept Him, and trust in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God, who were born of God and not of natural blood nor of physical or human impulse.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called God's sons.

For all who are guided by God's Spirit are God's sons.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are God's children;

and not only for the nation, but also to unite the scattered children of God.

For all of you are sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

but let us who belong to the day keep sober, clothed with faith and love for a coat of mail and with the hope of salvation for a helmet.

The night has almost passed; the day is at hand. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.
