There is one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.

Jehovah says: Who created the heavens? He who is God. He fashioned and made the earth. He founded it and he did not create it to be empty but formed it to be inhabited. He says: I am Jehovah, and there is no other.
Jesus answered: The first is, Hear, O Israel; Jehovah our God is one God (Jehovah).
If God is one he will justify the circumcised by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.
But to us there is but one God, the Father. All things come from him and we live for him. And there is one Lord Jesus Christ. All things were made through him and we were made through him.
You believe that there is one God. You do well: the demons also believe, and shudder.
and prayed: Jehovah God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven above or on earth below! You keep your covenant with your people and show them your love when they live in wholehearted obedience to you.
The king replied: Do it tomorrow! As you wish: Moses agreed. Then everyone will discover that there is no god like Jehovah!

For who in the heavens is comparable to Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like Jehovah?
To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to?
Do not have any other god. Do not make your own carved idols or statues that represent any creature in the sky, on the earth, or in the water. Do not worship them or serve them. I, Jehovah your God, am a God demanding exclusive devotion. (I do not tolerate rivals.) I will not share your affection with any other god. I punish children for their parents' sins to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.
Do not have any other god but me. Do not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above, or on the earth below, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Do not bow down to them. Do not serve them! For I Jehovah your God am a totally demanding zealous God. I require exclusive devotion and punish the fathers and children who hate me to the third and fourth generation.
Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them. Do not make me furious about the idols your hands have shaped. Then I will not harm you.
Do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gold to be worshiped in addition to me.
Do not worship any other god but Jehovah for his reputation is filled with zeal, and he is a God who demands exclusive devotion.
If your brother, your mother's son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your very best friend tries to secretly entice you, saying: 'Let us go and serve other gods, gods neither you nor your fathers have known, the gods of the people who are around you from one end of the earth to the other end.' Do not yield to him or listen to him. Your eye should not have pity on him. You should not spare or conceal him.
You are to keep in memory the agreement I made with you. You are to have no other gods. You are to worship Jehovah your God. It is he who will give you salvation from the hands of all who are against you.
I will pronounce judgment against my people because of all their wickedness. They abandoned me. They burned incense to other gods. They worshiped what their hands have made.
This is because they have forsaken me. They have made this an alien place and have burned sacrifices in it to other gods. These are gods that neither they nor their forefathers nor the kings of Judah had ever known. They have filled this place with the blood of the blameless (innocent).'
I have sent all my servants the prophets to you again and again. They said: Turn from your evil ways, do what is right, and do not follow other gods in order to serve them. Then you will live in the land that I gave you and your ancestors. However, you refused to listen to me or obey me.
Listen, Israel! JEHOVAH OUR GOD IS ONE GOD! You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with your entire mind and with all your strength.
Follow Jehovah and respect him. Obey him and keep his commandments. Worship him and be faithful to him (stick to him) (stay close to him) (cleave, cling to him).
Go away, Satan! demanded Jesus. It is written, It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.' (Deuteronomy 6:13-15)
All those people speak about how you received us when we visited you, and how you turned away from idols to God, to serve the true and living God, and to wait for his Son to come from heaven, his Son Jesus, whom he raised from death and who rescues us from God's anger (indignation) that is to come.
They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them. But they were not gods! They were only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.
Concerning the eating of food offered in sacrifice to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
What do I mean? That the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? But I say, that the things that the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God. I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.
All who make idols are nothing. The things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind. They are shamefully ignorant. Who shapes a god and casts a useless and good for nothing idol. He and his kind will be put to shame. Craftsmen are merely men. Let them all come together and take their stand for they will be brought down to terror and infamy.
They said: Sirs, why do you do these things? We are only men like you. We bring you good news. You should turn from these worthless things to the living God. He is the God who made heaven and earth, the sea and all things.
However at that time, you did not know God. You were in bondage to things that are really not gods at all.
