Jesus responded to them: My Father works until now and I work.

God is a not man that he should lie. He is not a son of man who changes his mind. Does he ever promise and not fulfill? Does he ever speak and not act?

Our God is in heaven. He does whatever he pleases.

Jehovah made all things for himself even the wicked one for the evil day.

He changes rivers into a desert, springs into thirsty ground, and fertile ground into a layer of salt because of the wickedness of the people living there. He changes deserts into lakes (marshland) and dry ground into springs.

Why are you worried about clothing? Look at how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil. They do not spin. I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was dressed like these. If God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, won't he care for you even more? You of little faith!

He has not left himself without witness. For he did good and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

All things in the heavens and upon the earth where created through him. The things visible and invisible were created through him. Whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him. He is before all things, and through him all things originate.

Ice is made from the breath of God. It freezes the expanse of the waters.

Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm? Who waters a land where no man lives, a desert with no one in it? Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of Orion? Can you bring forth the constellations of the zodiac in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs? (Mazzaroth Constellation) Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth?

You made the moon for the seasons. The sun knows the place of its setting.

He determines the number of stars. He gives each one a name.

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all these? The being that brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name created all these! Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

Do you know when the mountain goats give birth? Do you observe the calving of the deer? Can you number the months that they fulfill, and do you know the time when they give birth, when they crouch to give birth to their offspring, and are delivered of their young?read more.
Their young ones become strong, they grow up in the open; they go forth, and do not return to them. Who has let the wild donkey go free? Who has loosed the bonds of the swift donkey? Whose home I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwelling? He scorns the tumult of the city. He does not heed the shouts of the driver. The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searches after every green thing. Will the wild ox be willing to serve you? Will he bed by your manger? Can you bind the wild bull in the furrow with ropes? Or will he plow the valleys behind you? Will you rely on him for his great strength? Will you leave your heavy work to him? Can you trust him to bring in your grain and gather it to your threshing floor? The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully, but they cannot compare with the pinions and feathers of the stork. She lays her eggs on the ground and lets them warm in the sand. She is unaware that a foot may crush them, that some wild animal may trample them. And it smells the battle far away; the thundering orders of the captains and the battle cries. Is it by your wisdom that the hawk soars, and spreads its wings toward the south? Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up and makes its nest on high? It lives on the rock and makes its home in the fastness of the rocky crag. It spies the pray from there. Its eyes see it from far away. Its young ones suck up blood; and where the slain are, there it is.

Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you. It feeds on grass as cattle do. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.read more.

Man goes to his work and to his labor until evening. O Jehovah, how many are your works! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your possessions. The sea is so big and wide with many creatures, living things both large and small. Ships sail on it, and Leviathan (great sea animal), which you made, plays in it. All of them wait for you to give them their food at the proper time.

He is the one who gives food to animals and to young ravens when they call out.

Do two sparrows sell for a penny? Not one of them will fall on the ground without your Father knowing.

Are not five sparrows sold for two coins of small value? Yet not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God.

Tell the sons of Israel: 'I am Jehovah. I will bring you out from under the oppression of the Egyptians. I will free you from slavery! I will rescue you with my powerful arm and with mighty acts of judgment.' I will make you my people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am Jehovah your God. I brought you out from under the forced labor of the Egyptians. I will bring you to the land I solemnly swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as your own possession. I am Jehovah!'

Jehovah said to Abram: Leave your country, your people, and your father's household, and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. You will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. I will curse whoever curses you. All the people on earth will be blessed through you.

Jehovah called Moses from the mountain. So Moses went up the mountain to God. Jehovah told him: This is what you must say to the descendants of Jacob. Tell the Israelites: You have seen what I did to Egypt and how I carried you on the wings of eagles and brought you to me. If you will obey me and are faithful to the terms of my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, for all the earth is mine.read more.

Look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was only one. I blessed him and made him many.

When I passed by you and saw you squirming in your blood, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!' Yes, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!' I made you numerous like plants of the field. You grew up, became tall and reached the age for fine ornaments. Your breasts were formed and your hair had grown. Yet you were naked and bare.'

Jehovah is the strength of his people and a fortress for the victory of his anointed. Save your people, and bless those who belong to you. Be their shepherd, and carry them forever.

Let the redeemed by Jehovah say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary, And gathered out of the lands, from the east (sunrise) and from the west (sunset), from the north and from the south.

I will hold in my hand the staff God told me to take along. Joshua did as Moses told him. They fought the Amalekites, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill.read more.
As long as Moses held up his hands, Israel would win, but as soon as he put his hands down, the Amalekites would start to win. Finally, Moses was so tired that Aaron and Hur got a rock for him to sit on. They stood beside him and supported his arms in the same position until sunset. That is how Joshua defeated the Amalekites. After the fight Jehovah said to Moses: Write an account of this victory and read it to Joshua. I want the Amalekites to be forgotten forever. The Canaanite king of Arad in the southern part of Canaan heard that the Israelites were coming by way of Atharim. So he attacked them and captured some of them. Then the Israelites made a vow to Jehovah: If you will let us conquer these people, we will unconditionally dedicate them and their cities to you and will destroy them. Jehovah heard them and helped them conquer the Canaanites. The Israelites completely destroyed them and their cities, and named the place Hormah.

Jehovah said to Joshua: See, I have given into your hand Jericho, and the king there, and the mighty men of valor.

Jehovah delivered it and the king into the hand of Israel. He struck it with the edge of the sword, and all the persons who lived there. He let none remain: and he did to the king of Libnah as he did to the king of Jericho.

That night Jehovah commanded Gideon: Get up and attack the camp. I give you victory over it!

Everybody here will see that Jehovah does not need swords or spears to save his people. Jehovah always wins his battles. He will help us defeat you!

As soon as they began singing, Jehovah confused the enemy camp, The Ammonite and Moabite troops attacked and completely destroyed those from Edom. Then they turned against each other and fought until the entire camp was wiped out!

Therefore Jehovah left those nations, without driving them out. He did not deliver them into the hand of Joshua.

He makes nations great, and destroys them. He enlarges nations, and disperses them.

Come and behold the works of Jehovah. He has brought destruction in the earth. He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth! He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two. He burns the chariots (instruments of destruction) with fire. Cease your endeavors and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be glorified in the earth!

He rules forever with his might. His eyes watch the nations. Rebels will not be able to oppose him.

Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with his bow.

From one person he made every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth. He determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation.
