When Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he called together one hundred and eighty thousand of the best soldiers from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. He wanted to go to war and restore his control over the northern tribes of Israel. Do not attack the people of Israel, your own relatives. All of you go home. What has happened is my will.' They all obeyed Jehovah's command and went home.

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah: Stand at the gate of Jehovah's house and proclaim there this word: 'Hear the word of Jehovah, all you of Judah who enter by these gates to worship Jehovah! Thus says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Amend (make right) your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place.read more.
Do not trust in deceptive words. They say: 'This is the Temple of Jehovah, the Temple of Jehovah, and the Temple of Jehovah. For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land I gave to your fathers from generation to generation and for a very long time.' You are trusting in deceptive words that are of no value to you. Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to Baal and walk after other gods that you have not known? Then come and stand before me in this house. It is called by my name. You say, 'We are safe to do all these abominations.' Has this house, called by my name, become a den of robbers in your sight? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, declares Jehovah.

He said: Son of man, I am sending you to the people of Israel. They are people from a nation that has rebelled against me. They and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this day.

After John was locked in prison Jesus went to Galilee and preached the Good News of God to the people. Jesus said: The time has come. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the good news.

From that time on Jesus preached this message: Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near.

Jesus walked all over Galilee teaching in the synagogues. He preached the Good News about the Kingdom. He also healed every kind of disease and infirmity among the people.

Jesus and the twelve apostles traveled through cities and villages preaching the good news of the kingdom of God.

He entered the synagogue and spoke boldly reasoning and persuading about the kingdom of God. He did this for three months.

I know all of you and have preached the kingdom with you. But you will not see me again.

You men of Israel hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God came among you with miracles and wonders and signs. God did these by him in your midst, as you also know:

You know the Word of God was sent to the children of Israel. He (Jehovah God) presented peace through the anointed Lord (or Master) of all, Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:36) (Jesus identified his father, Jehovah God, as Lord of all heaven and earth at Matthew 11:25) You know that message which began in Galilee and was published throughout all Judea, after the baptism that John preached. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. God was with him.

He spread the message about God's Kingdom and taught boldly about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one stopped him!

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we, preached among you even by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yes and no, but in him is yes.

You took this man and delivered him by the determined counsel (purpose) and foreknowledge of God. With wicked hands you impaled and murdered him. God resurrected him, loosing the pains of death. This is because it was not possible that he should be held fast by it.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed. You hanged him on a stake.

We are witnesses of all things that he did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a stake. God raised him up the third day and made him visible. However, all the people did not see him. Witnesses who were previously chosen by God saw him. We who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead saw him.read more.
He commanded us to preach to the people. We testify that he was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

They found no grounds for the death sentence for him. Yet they asked Pilate to put him to death. When they had fulfilled all that was written about him, they took him down from the stake, and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead:read more.
Those who came with him from Galilee to Jerusalem saw him. They are his witnesses to the people.

Indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom. We preach Christ impaled. It is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the nations! To those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, it is Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

If we preached that Christ was raised from the dead, how can some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is worth nothing, and your faith is also without value.read more.
We are found to be false witnesses of God because we have testified that God raised Christ from the dead. If he did not raise him up from the dead then the dead are not raised up. For if the dead are not raised up then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ is not resurrected, your faith is worth nothing, and you are still in your sins.

He is exalted to the right hand of God. He has received the promised Holy Spirit from the Father. So he poured out what you now see and hear. For David has not ascended into heaven and yet he said: 'Jehovah said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.' (Psalm 110:1)

God exalted him to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Because Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. He preached to the people in prison. They were disobedient while the ark was being built. Yet God waited patiently in the days of Noah. But few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.read more.
This was a symbol pointing to baptism, which now saves you. It is not the washing off of bodily dirt, but the promise made to God for a good conscience. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is in heaven at the right hand of God, ruling over all angels and heavenly authorities and powers.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know for sure that God has made that same Jesus, whom you impaled, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 10:36)

They taught daily in the temple and in every house. They did not cease to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Then Philip went to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them.

Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia. He witnessed to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

God overlooked the times of ignorance; but now he commands men everywhere to repent.

Jesus said: The time has come. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the good news.

Then Peter said: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Repent therefore, and turn around, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times (seasons) of refreshing shall come from the presence of Jehovah. (Deuteronomy 18:18, 19)

I preached first to Damascus, and to Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the people of the nations, that they should repent and turn to God, and prove their repentance by deeds.

You should know, men and brothers that it is through this man Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

He said: It is written that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day. Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

All the prophets testify that through his name whoever believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins.

They continued devoting themselves to doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The twelve called the congregation of the disciples to them. They said: It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God and serve tables.

Then Barnabas departed to Tarsus to seek Saul. When he found him, he brought him to Antioch. They met with the congregation for a whole year. They taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Paul and Barnabas stayed at Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of God, with many others also.

A Jew named Apollos came to Ephesus. He was an Alexandrian who had a comprehensive knowledge of the scriptures and spoke eloquently. This man had been instructed in God's way. Being fervent in spirit he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John. He spoke boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him home and explained God's word more accurately.

I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly, and from house to house.

He lived there a year and six months teaching the word of God to them.

In the third year of his reign he sent out the following officials to teach in the cities of Judah: Benhail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah. With them were the Levites Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, Tob Adonijah, and the priests Elishama and Jehoram. They taught in Judah. They had the Book of Torah (the Law) (Jehovah's Teachings) with them when they taught the people in all the cities of Judah.

Ezra the priest brought the law to the meeting of the people. They were all able to listen to it. It was the first day of the seventh month. He read it in the wide place in front of the Water Gate from early morning till the middle of the day. Everyone who could understand it, men and women alike were able to listen to it. All the people got to hear the Book of the Law. Ezra the scribe took his place on a tower (podium) of wood that they had made for the purpose. By his side were placed Mattithiah and Shema and Anaiah and Uriah and Hilkiah and Maaseiah on the right; and on the left, Pedaiah and Mishael and Malchijah and Hashum and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam.read more.
Ezra took the book and opened it before the eyes of all the people for he was higher than the people. When it was open, all the people stood on their feet. Ezra praised Jehovah, the great God. And all the people said: Amen! With lifted hands and bent heads they worshiped Jehovah. They dropped to their faces on the earth. And Jeshua and Bani and Sherebiah and Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites made the law clear to the people: and the people kept in their places. They read from the book the Law of God making it clear (translating it), so that their minds were able to take it in.

Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to observe all the things I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

But you did not learn Christ that way. You learned him and were taught by him just as truth is in Jesus. You put away your former way (course) (behavior) (conversation) of life, the old self that was corrupt with the lusts of deceit.read more.
You are renewed in the spirit (vital principles) (attitude) of your mind (understanding). Put on the new man, that in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Furthermore, we encourage you, brothers, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you ought to walk, and to please God, so you would abound more and more. You know the commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

Teach sound doctrine. Aged men should be temperate, serious, sound in mind, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance. Aged women likewise should be reverent in behavior and teachers of that which is good. They should not be slanderers nor enslaved to too much wine.read more.
They may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God will not be (defamed) dishonored. Urge the younger men to be sound in mind. Be an example of good works in all things, showing no corruption in your doctrine. Have sound speech that cannot be condemned so the man opposing us may be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us. Servants should to be in subjection to their masters (overseers) (employers). They should please them in all things and not talk back. They should not steal from them, but should show good fidelity that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. For the grace (divine influence) of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age (world) (period of time). Look for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of the great God. And look for our Savior, Jesus Christ. He (Jesus Christ) gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify a people for himself, who are special people, zealous for good works. Speak and exhort and reprove these things with all authority. Let no man despise you.

preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.

When the Jews left the synagogue the people asked for this message to be preached to them the next Sabbath. When the congregation dismissed, many followed Paul and Barnabas. They urged them to continue in the grace of God.

After they preached the good news to that city and taught many, they returned again to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch. They strengthened the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith. They said, We must enter the kingdom of God through much tribulation.

He went to Greece after traveling through the area giving encouragement.

How is it then, brothers? When you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, and has an interpretation. Let all things be done to clarify and offer understanding! If anyone speaks in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three. It should be orderly by plan and someone must interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let the speaker keep silence in the congregation and speak to himself and to God.read more.
Let two or three prophets speak and let the others listen. If there is a revelation to another while sitting there, let the others keep quiet. You may all prophesy one by one (in turn) that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

What you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well.

Now I praise you, brothers, because you remember me in all things, and carefully follow the teachings (precepts) (doctrine) just as I delivered them to you.

So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the precepts (Greek: paradosis: traditions of doctrines, teachings handed down) you were taught by word of mouth or by letter from us.

Hold firmly to the true words that I taught you, as the example for you to follow. Remain in the faith and love that are ours in union with Christ Jesus. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. Keep (guard) (obey) (preserve) the good things that have been entrusted to you.

As I urged you to stay at Ephesus, when I was going into Macedonia, that you might command certain men not to teach strange doctrines. They should not pay attention to myths and endless genealogies. These myths (false stories) (fabrications) and genealogies stimulate questions and speculation. They do not enhance the administration of God that is by faith.

I am amazed that you so quickly turned away from the One who called you by the grace of Christ. You turned to different good news. Yet this is not another good news. But there are some who trouble (agitate) you, and they would pervert the good news of Christ. If we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any message other than that which we preached to you, let him be accursed (condemned) (expelled).read more.
We said before and now I say again, if any man preaches to you any message other than what you received, let him be accursed!

The Spirit explicitly says that some will fall away from the faith (truth) in later times. Spirits and doctrines of demons will seduce them, through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron. They will forbid marrying, [and command] to abstain from food, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.read more.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. This is because it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. If you tell the brothers about these things, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed until now. Refuse false stories and old wives' fables. Train yourself with godliness in mind.
