Hear the word of the Lord,You rulers of Sodom;Give ear to the instruction of our God,You people of Gomorrah.

Therefore the Lord God of hosts,The Mighty One of Israel, declares,“Ah, I will be relieved of My adversariesAnd avenge Myself on My foes.

And many peoples will come and say,“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,To the house of the God of Jacob;That He may teach us concerning His waysAnd that we may walk in His paths.”For the law will go forth from ZionAnd the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

For behold, the Lord God of hosts is going to remove from Jerusalem and JudahBoth supply and support, the whole supply of breadAnd the whole supply of water;

“What do you mean by crushing My peopleAnd grinding the face of the poor?”Declares the Lord God of hosts.

But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment,And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.

thus says the Lord God: “It shall not stand nor shall it come to pass.

“Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; make it deep as Sheol or high as heaven.”

Then he said, “Listen now, O house of David! Is it too slight a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well?

“Devise a plan, but it will be thwarted;State a proposal, but it will not stand,For God is with us.”

When they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,” should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

They will pass through the land hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward.

Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, will send a wasting disease among his stout warriors;And under his glory a fire will be kindled like a burning flame.

A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.

For a complete destruction, one that is decreed, the Lord God of hosts will execute in the midst of the whole land.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts, “O My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod and lifts up his staff against you, the way Egypt did.

Behold, the Lord, the God of hosts, will lop off the boughs with a terrible crash;Those also who are tall in stature will be cut downAnd those who are lofty will be abased.

And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride,Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

“But you said in your heart,‘I will ascend to heaven;I will raise my throne above the stars of God,And I will sit on the mount of assemblyIn the recesses of the north.

Yet gleanings will be left in it like the shaking of an olive tree,Two or three olives on the topmost bough,Four or five on the branches of a fruitful tree,Declares the Lord, the God of Israel.

For you have forgotten the God of your salvationAnd have not remembered the rock of your refuge.Therefore you plant delightful plantsAnd set them with vine slips of a strange god.

“Moreover, I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel master,And a mighty king will rule over them,” declares the Lord God of hosts.

O my threshed people, and my afflicted of the threshing floor!What I have heard from the Lord of hosts,The God of Israel, I make known to you.

and the remainder of the number of bowmen, the mighty men of the sons of Kedar, will be few; for the Lord God of Israel has spoken.”

For the Lord God of hosts has a day of panic, subjugation and confusionIn the valley of vision,A breaking down of wallsAnd a crying to the mountain.

Therefore in that day the Lord God of hosts called you to weeping, to wailing,To shaving the head and to wearing sackcloth.

But the Lord of hosts revealed Himself to me,“Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven youUntil you die,” says the Lord God of hosts.

Thus says the Lord God of hosts,“Come, go to this steward,To Shebna, who is in charge of the royal household,

Therefore glorify the Lord in the east,The name of the Lord, the God of Israel,In the coastlands of the sea.

And it will be said in that day,“Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us.This is the Lord for whom we have waited;Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”

O Lord our God, other masters besides You have ruled us;But through You alone we confess Your name.

And now do not carry on as scoffers,Or your fetters will be made stronger;For I have heard from the Lord God of hostsOf decisive destruction on all the earth.

But when he sees his children, the work of My hands, in his midst,They will sanctify My name;Indeed, they will sanctify the Holy One of JacobAnd will stand in awe of the God of Israel.

Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you,And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.For the Lord is a God of justice;How blessed are all those who long for Him.

Now the Egyptians are men and not God,And their horses are flesh and not spirit;So the Lord will stretch out His hand,And he who helps will stumbleAnd he who is helped will fall,And all of them will come to an end together.

It will blossom profuselyAnd rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,The majesty of Carmel and Sharon.They will see the glory of the Lord,The majesty of our God.

But if you say to me, ‘We trust in the Lord our God,’ is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘You shall worship before this altar’?

Perhaps the Lord your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

“Thus you shall say to Hezekiah king of Judah, ‘Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, O Lord, and see; and listen to all the words of Sennacherib, who sent them to reproach the living God.

Now, O Lord our God, deliver us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, Lord, are God.”

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

It came about as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons killed him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son became king in his place.

“Go and say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.

Get yourself up on a high mountain,O Zion, bearer of good news,Lift up your voice mightily,O Jerusalem, bearer of good news;Lift it up, do not fear.Say to the cities of Judah,“Here is your God!”

Behold, the Lord God will come with might,With His arm ruling for Him.Behold, His reward is with HimAnd His recompense before Him.

Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit?

Then it becomes something for a man to burn, so he takes one of them and warms himself; he also makes a fire to bake bread. He also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before it.

But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image. He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god.”

“I will give you the treasures of darknessAnd hidden wealth of secret places,So that you may know that it is I,The Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.

“I am the Lord, and there is no other;Besides Me there is no God.I will gird you, though you have not known Me;

Thus says the Lord,“The products of Egypt and the merchandise of CushAnd the Sabeans, men of stature,Will come over to you and will be yours;They will walk behind you, they will come over in chainsAnd will bow down to you;They will make supplication to you:‘Surely, God is with you, and there is none else,No other God.’”

Truly, You are a God who hides Himself,O God of Israel, Savior!

For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited),“I am the Lord, and there is none else.

“Gather yourselves and come;Draw near together, you fugitives of the nations;They have no knowledge,Who carry about their wooden idolAnd pray to a god who cannot save.

“Declare and set forth your case;Indeed, let them consult together.Who has announced this from of old?Who has long since declared it?Is it not I, the Lord?And there is no other God besides Me,A righteous God and a Savior;There is none except Me.

“Those who lavish gold from the purseAnd weigh silver on the scaleHire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;They bow down, indeed they worship it.

“Remember the former things long past,For I am God, and there is no other;I am God, and there is no one like Me,

“Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are named IsraelAnd who came forth from the loins of Judah,Who swear by the name of the LordAnd invoke the God of Israel,But not in truth nor in righteousness.

“For they call themselves after the holy cityAnd lean on the God of Israel;The Lord of hosts is His name.

“Come near to Me, listen to this:From the first I have not spoken in secret,From the time it took place, I was there.And now the Lord God has sent Me, and His Spirit.”

But I said, “I have toiled in vain,I have spent My strength for nothing and vanity;Yet surely the justice due to Me is with the Lord,And My reward with My God.”

And now says the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,To bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel might be gathered to Him(For I am honored in the sight of the Lord,And My God is My strength),

Thus says the Lord God,“Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nationsAnd set up My standard to the peoples;And they will bring your sons in their bosom,And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.

The Lord God has opened My ear;And I was not disobedientNor did I turn back.

For the Lord God helps Me,Therefore, I am not disgraced;Therefore, I have set My face like flint,And I know that I will not be ashamed.

Behold, the Lord God helps Me;Who is he who condemns Me?Behold, they will all wear out like a garment;The moth will eat them.

Who is among you that fears the Lord,That obeys the voice of His servant,That walks in darkness and has no light?Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.

For I am the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea and its waves roar (the Lord of hosts is His name).

Your sons have fainted,They lie helpless at the head of every street,Like an antelope in a net,Full of the wrath of the Lord,The rebuke of your God.

Thus says your Lord, the Lord, even your GodWho contends for His people,“Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of reeling,The chalice of My anger;You will never drink it again.

For thus says the Lord God, “My people went down at the first into Egypt to reside there; then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
