'Look' in the Bible
So Yahweh said to Satan, "Look, {all that belongs to him} is in your {power}. Only do not stretch out your hand {against} him." So Satan went out from Yahweh's {presence}.
Look, let that night become barren; let a joyful song not enter it.
Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
Indeed, you have instructed manyand have strengthened weak hands.
Look, he does not trust in his servants and he charges his angels with error.
"Look, happy [is the] human being whom God reproves; and you must not despise the discipline of Shaddai,
"Look! We have thought all this through, and what we've said is true; So please listen and learn for your own good!"
The caravans of Tema look for these streams.The traveling merchants of Sheba hope for them.
Now therefore be content, look upon me; for it is evident unto you if I lie.
The eye of anyone who looks on mewill no longer see me.Your eyes will look for me, but I will be gone.
Will You ever look away from me,or leave me alone long enough to swallow?
But if you will look to God, and make your supplication to the Almighty,
Look, this [is] the joy of his way, and from dust others will spring up.
Look, God does not reject a person of integrity,and He will not support evildoers.
If it is a matter of strength, look, He is the Mighty One!If it is a matter of justice, who can summon Him?
If I were to say, "Let me forget my complaint,' change the expression on my face, and look cheerful,
‘Is it right for You indeed to oppress,To reject the labor of Your hands,And to look favorably on the schemes of the wicked?
Do you have eyes made of flesh? Can you look at things as humans do?
""Woe to me if I'm guilty! If I'm innocent, I cannot lift my head, because I am filled with disgrace. Look at my affliction!
You will be confident, because there is hope.You will look carefully about and lie down in safety.
But what the wicked look for will fail; their way of escape will be taken away from them; their only hope is to take their final breath."
Look, [if] he withholds the water, then they dry up; and [if] he sends them out, then they overwhelm [the] land.
Look, my eyes have seen all this;my ears have heard and understood it.
Look, [though] he kill me, I will hope in him; however, I will defend my ways {before him}.
"Look, now! I've prepared my case for court. I know that I'm going to win.
look away from him and let him restso that he can enjoy his day like a hired hand.
Look, if God doesn't trust his holy ones, if even the heavens aren't pure as he looks at them,
So now look, my witness [is] in the heavens, and he [who] vouches for me [is] in the heights.
“If I look for Sheol as my home,I make my bed in the darkness;
"Look, I cry out, 'Violence!' but I am not answered; I cry out, but there is no justice.
I will see Him myself;my eyes will look at Him, and not as a stranger.My heart longs within me.
He won't look at the rivers the torrents of honey and curd.
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
Look at me and shudder;put your hand over your mouth.
Look, their prosperity [is] not in their hands; the schemes of [the] wicked are repugnant to me.
I know your thoughts very well,the schemes you would wrong me with.
Isn’t God as high as the heavens?And look at the highest stars—how lofty they are!
"Look! If I go east, he isn't there! If I go to the west, I don't perceive him.
"Look! Like wild donkeys in the wilderness, they work diligently as they seek wild game in the desert, food for them and their young ones.
Look, even [the] moon {is not bright}, and [the] stars are not pure in his sight.
Look, these [are] the outer fringes of his ways, and {how faint is the word} [that] we hear of him! But who can understand the thunder of his power?"
Look! All of you have been watching, so why have you become so completely worthless?
For He to the ends of the earth doth look, Under the whole heavens He doth see,
He said to mankind,“The fear of the Lord is this: wisdom.And to turn from evil is understanding.”
I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me;when I stand up, You merely look at me.
I have made a covenant with my eyes.How then could I look at a young woman?
“If I have withheld from the poor what they desired,Or have caused the eyes of the widow to look in vain [for relief],
if I look at the sun when it shines or the moon as it rises in steady splendor,
Look, I waited for your conclusions;I listened to your insightsas you sought for words.
And I directed my attention to you; and, look, there is no [one] for Job [who] refuted, answering his words among you.
"Look, my internal organs [are] like unopened wine, like new wineskins it is [ready] to burst open.
Look! I've begun to speak, and I'm fashioning my words.
Look! As far as God is concerned, I'm just like you are I, too, have been pinched off from a piece of clay.
Look, dread of me should not terrify you, and my hand will not be heavy upon you.
Look, he finds fault against me; he reckons me as his enemy;
"Look, [in] this you are not right--I will answer you: Indeed, God is greater than a human being.
He will look at men and say,“I have sinned and perverted what was right;yet I did not get what I deserved.
Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
Look, God [is] mighty but does not despise [anyone]; [he is] mighty [and] {good in understanding}.
Look, God shows Himself exalted by His power.Who is a teacher like Him?
Yes, God is exalted beyond our knowledge;the number of His years cannot be counted.
See how He spreads His lightning around Himand covers the depths of the sea.
Now men cannot even look at the sunwhen it is in the skies,after a wind has swept through and cleared them away.
“Out of the north comes golden splendor [and people can hardly look on it];Around God is awesome splendor and majesty [far too glorious for man’s eyes].
Therefore, men fear Him.He does not look favorably on any who are wise in heart.
Can you command the lightning, so that it goes forth and calls to you, "Look at us!'
From thence he hath sought food, To a far off place his eyes look attentively,
"I must look insignificant to you! How can I answer you? I'm speechless.
Unleash your raging anger;look on every proud person and humiliate him.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Look at Behemoth,which I made along with you.He eats grass like an ox.
Look at the strength of his loinsand the power in the muscles of his belly.
Look, [if the] river is turbulent, it is not frightened; it is confident even though [the] Jordan rushes against its mouth.
