At that time Michael will stand up. He is the great prince who stands for the children of your people. There will be a time of trouble that has not happened since the beginning of nations. Then your people will be delivered, every one whos name is found written in the book. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The Son has life in himself just as the Father has life in himself. For the Father gave him life. And he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man. Do not wonder about this for the hour is coming when everyone in the grave will hear his voice. read more.
They will return. Those who did good will have the resurrection of life. Those who did evil will receive the resurrection of judgment.

Jesus responded to them: Truly I tell you if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood you will not have life in yourselves.

Truly, Truly I say to you, he who hears my word, and believes him that sent me, has everlasting life. He will not receive judgment for he has passed out of death into life. Truly I tell you, the hour is coming when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear (listen) (understand) will live. The Son has life in himself just as the Father has life in himself. For the Father gave him life.

This is the bread that comes down out of heaven that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. If any man eats of this bread he will live forever. Yes and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.

But the two are not the same, because God's gift (spiritual endowment) is not like Adam's sin. It is true that many people died because of the sin of that one man. But God's grace is much greater, and so is his gift to so many people through the loving-kindness of the one man, Jesus Christ.

For sin, finding occasion, through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me.

They who live according to flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh. They who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. The mind of sinful flesh (fleshly thought) means death; but the mind influenced by the Spirit gives life and peace.

So then, brothers we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh (human nature), for if you live according to flesh, you are about to die. If by the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. For by grace (loving-kindness) you have been saved. God raised us up with him and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, with Christ Jesus.

The faithless in heart will be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from above.

The good man performs good things out of his good treasure. The evil man performs evil things out of his evil treasure.

A good tree does not produce corrupt fruit and a corrupt tree does not produce good fruit. The identity of a tree is made clear by the fruit it produces. Men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good. The evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth that which is evil. Out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

A good man obtains favor from Jehovah. He will condemn a man of wicked intentions.

Beloved, do not imitate that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is from God. He who does evil has not seen God.

[There will be] glory, honor and peace to every one who does good works, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

All goes well for the person who is generous and lends willingly. He earns an honest living. He will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered. He is not afraid of bad news. His heart remains secure, full of confidence in Jehovah. read more.
His heart is steady, and he is not afraid. In the end he will look triumphantly at his enemies. He gives freely to poor. His righteousness continues forever. His head is raised in honor.

There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink, and delight in his work. This also I saw was from the hand of God. After all, who eats and who drinks better than I? To the man who is good, God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy. But to the sinner he gives the work of getting goods together and storing up wealth, to give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.

They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and marvelous are your works, Jehovah God, the Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of the ages (Eternal King) (King of the nations) (King of the holy ones). (Deuteronomy 31:30; 32:4) (Exodus 6:3)

And yet you will not come to me that you may have life.

Jesus said: I am the resurrection and the life. He who puts active faith in me will live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and puts active faith in me will never die. Do you believe this?

We have heard that which was from the beginning. We have also seen it with our own eyes. We looked at it and touched it with our hands. It is the Word of life. The life was made known and we have seen and testify about it. We declare the life to you. It is the eternal life, which was with the Father and was shown to us.

Jesus answered: Truly I tell you unless a person is born again (brought forth from above) he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus asked: How could a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb again and be born? Jesus responded: I tell you truth, except a man be born of water and the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! read more.
That which is born from the flesh is flesh and that which is born from the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I say you must be born again. The wind blows where it will. You hear the sound of it. Yet you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. It is like this with every one who is born from the Spirit. Nicodemus asked: How can these things be? Jesus answered: Are you a teacher of Israel and you do not understand these things? This is the truth. We speak what we know and witness about what we have seen. But you do not receive our testimony. If I told you earthly things and you did not have faith, how will you have faith if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ever ascended into heaven but the Son of man who descended from heaven. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of man must also be lifted up. Everyone who has an active faith in him may have everlasting life. For God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever has an active faith in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You have given him authority over all flesh that he may give everlasting life to the ones whom you have given him. This is everlasting life that they should have *deep, intimate knowledge of you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have commissioned. *(Greek: ginosko: know, perceive, be sure, understand)

We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death. Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, that we might walk in the newness of life. If we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be in the likeness of his resurrection.

Now you are free from sin and are servants to God. You have your fruit in holiness, and the end everlasting (eternal) life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift from God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

He lived and his life gives light to all people. His light shines through darkness and it cannot be extinguished. God sent a man named John. (Malachi 3:1) He came to tell (witness) (testify) about the light and help people have faith. Not being the light he came to give a witness of it. The true light, which gives light to every man, came into the world. (Isaiah 49:6) The world was made through him. He was in the world and the world did not recognize him. He came to his own. He said: These are my words that I spoke to you, while I was yet with you. All things must be fulfilled. They are things that are written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning me. He opened their minds that they might understand the scriptures. He said: It is written that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day.

Peter and the other apostles answered: We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed. You hanged him on a stake. God exalted him to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. read more.
We are witnesses of these things. The Holy Spirit, which God gave to those who obey him, also witnessed.

You know that message which began in Galilee and was published throughout all Judea, after the baptism that John preached. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. God was with him. We are witnesses of all things that he did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a stake. read more.
God raised him up the third day and made him visible. However, all the people did not see him. Witnesses who were previously chosen by God saw him. We who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead saw him. He commanded us to preach to the people. We testify that he was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify that through his name whoever believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins.

I AM JEHOVAH YOUR GOD, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, YOUR SAVIOR. Egypt is the ransom I exchanged for you. Sudan and Seba are the price I paid for you. I honor you because you are precious to me and I love you. I will exchange others for you. Nations will be the price I pay for your life. Do not be afraid for I am with you. I will bring your descendants from the east and gather you from the west. read more.
I will say to the north, 'Give them up,' and to the south, 'do not keep them. Bring my sons from far away and my daughters from the ends of the earth. Bring everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.' Bring the people who are blind but still have eyes, the people who are deaf but still have ears. All nations have gathered together, and people have assembled. Who among them could have revealed this? Who among them could have foretold this to us? They should bring their witnesses to prove that they were right. Let the people hear them. Then they will say: 'It is the truth.' YOU ARE MY WITNESSES, DECLARES JEHOVAH! I have chosen you as my servant so that you can know and believe in me and understand that I am the one who did this. No god was formed before me, and there will be none after me. I ALONE AM JEHOVAH, AND THERE IS NO SAVIOR BESIDES ME. I have revealed it to you. I have saved you, and I have announced it to you. There was no foreign god among you. You are my witnesses that I am God, declares Jehovah.

Listen, O Jacob, my servant, Listen Israel, whom I have chosen. This is what Jehovah says, the one who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: 'Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come yes, let him foretell what will come. Do not tremble. Do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses! Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock. There is not one!'

When they met they asked him: Lord will you restore the kingdom to Israel at this time? He replied: It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has set within His own authority. When he said these things, while they watched, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. They gazed intently into the sky as he went into heaven. Two men wearing white stood beside them. They said: You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven will come in a similar manner as you saw him go into heaven.

The beggar held on to Peter and John while all the people came to them at the place called Solomon's Colonnade. When Peter saw this he spoke to the people: You men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? Why do you look at us as though our own power or holiness made this man walk? Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God, and of our Savior Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord! His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. This is through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue (excellence). read more.
He offered us his precious and exceedingly great promises. Through these you may become partakers of the divine nature. You will escape from the corruption that is in the lust-filled world. Yes, for this very reason you do your part with all diligence. Supply virtue to your faith. Add knowledge to your virtue. Include self-control with your knowledge. Supply patience to your self-control. Your patience should be helped by godliness. Add brotherly kindness to your godliness. And to your brotherly kindness add love. For if these things are yours and abound in you they will keep you from being inactive or unfruitful regarding the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. Brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election (choosing) sure. If you do (practice) (exercise) (apply) these things, you will never stumble! For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly (abundantly) supplied to you. I will always be ready to remind you of these things. Even though you know them, and are established in the truth that is present with you. I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by reminding you. I know that putting off my earthly dwelling is imminent, even as our Lord Jesus Christ indicated to me. I will be diligent so that every time after my departure you will remember these things. We did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

THE REVELATION GOD GAVE TO JESUS CHRIST, so that he could tell his servants the things that must soon take place. Christ then sent his angel to communicate the symbolic message to his servant John. John testified to the word of God, the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all that he saw.

We did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We were eyewitnesses of his majesty. He received honor and glory from God the Father when he heard the voice from the Majestic Glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. We heard this voice from out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.

Peter told Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let us make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them. A voice came out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.

Peter said to Jesus: Teacher it is good for us to be here. Let us make three tabernacles, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. Peter and the others were afraid and they did not know what to say. A cloud hovered over them and a voice came out of the cloud: This is my Son the beloved listen to him!

Before they left Peter said to Jesus: Master it is good for us to be here. Let us make three tabernacles. We could make one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah. He did not know what he was saying. While he said these things a cloud enveloped them and they were filled with fear. A voice came out of the cloud saying: This is my Son my chosen one. Listen to him!

You men of Israel hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God came among you with miracles and wonders and signs. God did these by him in your midst, as you also know:

All may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father that sent him. Truly, Truly I say to you, he who hears my word, and believes him that sent me, has everlasting life. He will not receive judgment for he has passed out of death into life. Truly I tell you, the hour is coming when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear (listen) (understand) will live. read more.
The Son has life in himself just as the Father has life in himself. For the Father gave him life. And he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man. Do not wonder about this for the hour is coming when everyone in the grave will hear his voice. They will return. Those who did good will have the resurrection of life. Those who did evil will receive the resurrection of judgment. I can do nothing by myself. So I hear and judge and my judgment is righteous. I do not seek my own will, but the will of him that sent me. If I alone testify about myself, my testimony is not enough truth. There is another who testifies about me. I know that his evidence about me is true. You sent people to John the Baptist and he has witnessed about the truth. The testimony I receive is not from man. You have not heard his voice nor seen him at any time. You do not have his word dwelling in you. This is because you do not believe in the person he has sent.

The Pharisees therefore replied to him: You testify about yourself. Your evidence is not true! Jesus answered them: Even if I bear witness about myself, my testimony is true! I know where I came from and I know where I am going. You do not know where I came from or where I am going. You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one. read more.
Yes and if I judge my judgment is true. I am not alone for I am with the Father who sent me. It is written in your law that the witness of two men is true. I testify about myself and the Father who sent me testifies about me.

I give them eternal life. They will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father has given them to me. He is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one (united in purpose). The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. Jesus replied to them: I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of those works do you stone me? The Jews answered him: We do not stone you for good work but for blasphemy. You are a man and you make yourself like God. (John 1:1) Jesus said: Is it not written in your law, I said, you are 'god-like ones'? So if he called them 'god-like ones,' those to whom the word of God came, and the Scriptures may not be annulled, do you say to the one whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, you blaspheme? And this because I said, I am the Son of God. (Psalm 82:1, 6) (John 1:34; 5:18) (Luke 1:35) If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me. But if I do them and you do not believe me, believe the works! That way you may know and understand that the Father is with me, and I am with the Father.

Jesus answered: The time has come for the Son of man to be glorified. Truly I tell you unless a grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies it bears much fruit. He that loves his life [in this world] loses it; and he that detests (does not love) his life in this world shall save it for everlasting life. read more.

It is for this purpose that I came to this hour! (Hebrews 5:7) Father, glorify your name. A voice came from heaven: I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. The crowd near him only heard thunder. Some said an angel spoke to him. Jesus said: This voice came for your sake and not for mine.

Who is the one who conquers (overcomes) (prevails over) the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ. He did not come with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. The Spirit gives witness because it is the truth. There are three that testify: (Latin Vulgate: tres testimonium: three that testify.) read more.
The Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are in agreement (accord) (concurrence) (harmony). (Latin Vulgate: Spiritus et aqua et sanguis et tres unum: Spirit, water, and blood are united.) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. The witness of God is this, that he gave witness concerning his Son.

However I say these things that you may be saved. He was the lamp that burns and shines. You were willing to rejoice for a season in his light. The testimony I have is greater than that of John. The works I do are the works the Father gave me to accomplish. They testify that the Father has sent me. The Father who sent me testifies about me. You have not heard his voice nor seen him at any time. You do not have his word dwelling in you. This is because you do not believe in the person he has sent. You search (investigate) (study) the Scriptures because you think that in them you have everlasting life. These Scriptures testify about me.
