And after the deportation to Babylon, Jechoniah became the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel became the father of Zerubbabel,
and Zerubbabel became the father of Abiud, and Abiud became the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim became the father of Azor,
and Azor became the father of Zadok, and Zadok became the father of Achim, and Achim became the father of Eliud,
and Eliud became the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar became the father of Matthan, and Matthan became the father of Jacob,
and Jacob became the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary by whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Now the manner of Christ's birth was this: his mother Mary being promised in marriage to Joseph, before they came together, she became pregnant by the holy Spirit.
Then Herod, [when he] saw that he had been deceived by the wise men, became very angry, and he sent [soldiers] [and] executed all the children in Bethlehem and in all the region [around] it from [the age of] two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined precisely from the wise men.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he became hungry.
Immediately they left their nets and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].
and behold, the water became very agitated on the sea, so that the ship was covered by the waves; but he slept.
And he says to them, Why are ye cowardly, O ye of little faith? Then after rising, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there became a great calm.
When the crowds saw this, they became frightened and glorified God for giving such authority to humans.
At that time Jesus walked one sabbath through the wheat fields, and His disciples became hungry, and began to pull the heads of wheat and eat them.
But He said to them, "Did you never read what David did, when he and his soldiers became hungry?
Then He said to the man, "Hold out your hand." And he held it out, and it was cured so that it became like the other.
When Jesus became aware of this, He withdrew from there. Huge crowds
And when the sun was high, it was burned; and because it had no root it became dry and dead.
but another part falling upon good soil, became fruitful, some grains yielding an hundred, some sixty, and some thirty.
For this people's heart became fat, and their ears hear heavily, and their eyes are shut, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should turn, and I will heal them.
When it became full, the fishermen dragged it up onto the shore. Then they sat down and, [sorting their catch], placed the good [i.e., edible fish] into containers, but threw out the bad [i.e., inedible ones].
And he became sad, but because of the oaths, and of those dining together, the king commanded it to be given.
When it became evening, the disciples came to Him and said, "This place is deserted and it is getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go into the towns and buy food [for their supper]."
When the disciples saw Him walking on the water they became frightened, saying, "It is a spirit!" and cried out with fear.
But when he saw the [furious] wind he became fearful and began to sink, shouting out, "Lord, save me!"
And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothing became bright as the light.
And when the disciples heard [the voice], they fell [to the ground] on their faces and became very afraid.
They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised." And they became greatly distressed.
His master then became furious and turned him over [to the authorities] to be punished until he paid all that he owed.
For there are some eunuchs who were that way from birth, and some who were made eunuchs by others, and some who became eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to accept this should accept it."
When the 10 disciples heard this, they became indignant with the two brothers.
Jesus felt deep pity for them, so He touched their eyes and immediately their sight was restored, and they became [His] followers.
When He entered Jerusalem, all the city was trembling [with excitement], saying, “Who is this?”
But when the chief priests and the experts in the law saw the wonderful things he did and heard the children crying out in the temple courts, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they became indignant
Now in the morning, as Jesus returned to the city [of Jerusalem], He became hungry.
And seeing a fig-tree by the wayside, he came to it, and saw nothing on it but leaves only; and he said to it, Let there be no fruit from you from this time forward for ever. And straight away the fig-tree became dry and dead.
Jesus saith to them, 'Did ye never read in the Writings, A stone that the builders disallowed, it became head of a corner; from the Lord hath this come to pass, and it is wonderful in our eyes.
The king became furious and sent his army to destroy these murderers and burn their city.
And [when] the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
But the disciples seeing it became indignant, saying, To what end was this waste?
They became greatly distressed and each one began to say to him, "Surely not I, Lord?"
And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and became sad and very troubled.
Now when the military man in charge, and those with him who were watching Jesus, saw [and felt] the earthquake and the [other] things that happened, they became extremely fearful, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."
And the guards trembled from the fear of him and became like dead men.
