And he said to them, Have ye never read what David did when he had need and hungered, he and those with him,

And having heard that it was Jesus the Nazaraean, he began to cry out and to say, O Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me.

And many rebuked him, that he might be silent; but he cried so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.

Blessed be the coming kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest!

And Jesus answering said as he was teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say that the Christ is son of David?

for David himself said speaking in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand until I put thine enemies as footstool of thy feet.

David himself therefore calls him Lord, and whence is he his son? And the mass of the people heard him gladly.
