So the commander of the Temple guards went with his men to bring them back without force, because they were afraid of being stoned to death by the people.
and not for a single day did they stop teaching in the temple square and in private houses the good news of Jesus the Christ.
They had arranged for the false witnesses to say, "This man will not stop speaking against the Temple and the law of Moses,
for we [ourselves] heard him saying that this Jesus from Nazareth would destroy the Temple and change the customs handed down to us by Moses."
