And he went up into a mountain, and called unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

And Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him: and they went into a house.

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and by the prince of the demons casts he out demons.

And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brothers?

And he looked round about on them who sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brothers!

And these are they likewise who are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

And these are they who are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

And these are they who are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.

Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

And a certain woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years,

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out of him, turned about in the crowd, and said, Who touched my clothes?

And his disciples said unto him, You see the multitude thronging you, and you say, Who touched me?

While he yet spoke, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain who said, Your daughter is dead: why trouble you the Teacher any further?

But when Herod heard of it, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

And the king was exceedingly sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes who sat with him, he would not reject her.

Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, who came from Jerusalem.

And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and on the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Who do men say that I am?

And he said unto them, But who say you that I am? And Peter answered and said unto him, You are the Christ.

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of those that stand here, who shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

And one of the multitude answered and said, Teacher, I have brought unto you my son, who has a dumb spirit;

But they held their peace: for on the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man who shall do a miracle in my name, that can soon after speak evil of me.

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

But Jesus called them to him, and said unto them, You know that they who are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their leaders exercise authority over them.

And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any: that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

And said unto him, By what authority do you these things? and who gave you this authority to do these things?

Then came unto him the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels who are in heaven.

And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, who love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

Who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these shall receive greater condemnation.

And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow has cast more in, than all they who have cast into the treasury:

And except the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days.

But of that day and that hour knows no man, no, not the angels who are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.

And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you who eats with me shall betray me.

The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom you speak.

And there was one named Barabbas, who lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will you then that I shall do unto him whom you call the King of the Jews?

And they compelled one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up his spirit, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

There were also women looking on from afar: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women who came up with him unto Jerusalem.

Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable counselor, who also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulcher?

And he said unto them, Be not amazed: you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons.

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at table, and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them who had seen him after he was risen.

Even as they delivered them unto us, who from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

And, behold, your cousin Elizabeth, she has also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began:

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Who was the son of Enos, who was the son of Seth, who was the son of Adam, who was the son of God.

And in the synagogue there was a man, who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and cried out with a loud voice,

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know who you are; the Holy One of God.

And they beckoned unto their partners, who were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from now on you shall catch men.

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.

And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

And, behold, men brought in a bed a man who was a paralytic: and they sought a way to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

And Jesus answering them said, Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when he was hungry, and they who were with him;

But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.

And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also was the traitor.

And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

But I say unto you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to them who hate you,

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them who despitefully use you.

For if you love them who love you, what thanks have you? for sinners also love those that love them.

And if you do good to them who do good to you, what thanks have you? for sinners also do even the same.

And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thanks have you? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

Whosoever comes to me, and hears my sayings, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like:

He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

But what went you out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, they who are gorgeously appareled, and live in luxury, are in kings' courts.

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who shall prepare your way before you.

And, behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat to eat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment,

Now when the Pharisee who had bidden him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touches him: for she is a sinner.
