Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.


‘God has redeemed my life from going to the pit [of destruction],

Though I am right, still I am in pain; my wound may not be made well, though I have done no wrong.

How much less when you say you don't see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him!

God tells them what they have done
and how arrogantly they have transgressed.

But if they don't listen, they shall perish by the sword; they shall die without knowledge.

"But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don't cry for help when he binds them.

He makes the wrong done to the poor the way of their salvation, opening their ears by their trouble.

Yea he might even have allured thee - out of the mouth of straitness, into a wide space - no narrowness there, - and, the food set down on thy table, should have been full of fatness.

Don't let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

Hath God ordained then, that the glorious life of thee, and all such mighty men should not be put down?
