He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As usual, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.

“Two men went up to the temple complex to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.




Now as you excel in everything—faith, speech, knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love for us—excel also in this grace.



For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the One who serves.








So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example that you also should do just as I have done for you.

For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps. He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth; when reviled, He did not revile in return; when suffering, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to the One who judges justly.

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won't grow weary and lose heart. In struggling against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
