Women received back their dead raised to life. Some were tortured on the wheel, and refused release in order that they might rise to a better life.

But, when the people had been sent out, Jesus went in, and took the little girl's hand, and she rose.

The dead man came out, wrapped hand and foot in a winding- sheet; his face, too, had been wrapped in a cloth. "Set him free," said Jesus, "and let him go."

Then he went up and touched the bier, and the bearers stopped; and Jesus said: "Young man, I am speaking to you--Rise!"

Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice, And will come out--those who have done good rising to Life, and those who have lived evil lives rising for condemnation.

And then you will be happy indeed, since they cannot recompense you; for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the good."

For, with a loud summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the trumpet-call of God, the Lord himself will come down from Heaven.

(For Sadducees say there is no such thing as a resurrection, and that there is neither angel nor spirit, while Pharisees believe in both.)

Presently there came up some Sadducees, who maintain that there is no resurrection. Their question was this--

"No one can come to me, unless the Father who sent me draws him to me; and I will raise him up at the Last Day.

God gives it the body that he pleases-to each seed its special body. All forms of life are not the same; there is one for men, another for beasts, another for birds, and another for fishes. There are heavenly bodies, and earthly bodies; but the beauty of the heavenly bodies is not the beauty of the earthly. Yes, and we are being proved to have borne false testimony about God; for we testified of God that he raised the Christ, whom he did not raise, if, indeed, the dead do not rise! For, if the dead do not rise, then even Christ himself has not been raised, And, if Christ has not been raised, your faith is folly-your sins are on you still! But, if there is no such thing as a resurrection of the dead, then even Christ has not been raised; And, if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation is without meaning, and our faith without meaning also!

Why do you all hold it incredible that God should raise the dead?
