'Family' in the Bible

And the Lord said to Noah, Take all your family and go into the ark, for you only in this generation have I seen to be upright.

These are the family records of Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. They also had sons after the flood.

These are the family records of Abraham’s son Ishmael, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s slave, bore to Abraham.

These are the family records of Isaac son of Abraham. Abraham fathered Isaac.

And taking the men of his family with him, he went after him for seven days and overtook him in the hill-country of Gilead.

Then Jacob said, “God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, the Lord who said to me, ‘Go back to your land and to your family, and I will cause you to prosper,’

Then we will give our daughters to you, and we will take for ourselves your daughters, and we will live with you and become one family.

These are the family records of Esau (that is, Edom).

These are the family records of Jacob.At 17 years of age, Joseph tended sheep with his brothers. The young man was working with the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, his father’s wives, and he brought a bad report about them to their father.

His sons and his sons' sons, his daughters and his daughters' sons and all his family he took with him into Egypt.

All of these people, who belonged to Jacob's family, traveled to Egypt. All of Jacob's direct descendants, not including his sons' wives, numbered 66 persons in all.

And the sons of Joseph whom he had in Egypt were two. Seventy persons of the family of Jacob came into Egypt.

And said to me, Truly, I will make you fertile and give you increase and will make of you a great family of nations: and I will give this land to your seed after you to be their heritage for ever.

Joseph lived in Egypt, along with his father's family. Joseph lived 110 years.

These are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob; each came with his family:

Now a man from the family of Levi married a Levite woman.

Tell all the congregation of Israel, ‘On the tenth [day] of this month they are to take a lamb or young goat for themselves, according to [the size of] the household of which he is the father, a lamb or young goat for each household.

The descendants of Joseph: The descendants of Ephraim: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral houses, counting the names of those 20 years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,

The descendants of Manasseh: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral houses, counting the names of those 20 years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,

The descendants of Benjamin: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral houses, counting the names of those 20 years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,

The descendants of Dan: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral houses, counting the names of those 20 years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,

The descendants of Asher: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral houses, counting the names of those 20 years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,

The descendants of Naphtali: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral houses, counting the names of those 20 years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,

Those registered with the family of Naphtali numbered 53,400.

These were the men whom Moses and Aaron numbered along with the twelve leaders of Israel, each of whom was from his own family.

"Every one of the Israelites must camp under his standard with the emblems of his family; they must camp at some distance around the tent of meeting.

Thus the sons of Israel did; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they camped by their standards, and so they set out, every one by his family according to his father’s household.

These are the family records of Aaron and Moses at the time the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.

and the leader of the Gershonite family was Eliasaph son of Lael.

And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.

and the leader of the family of the Kohathite clans was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.
