'Wind' in the Bible
God remembered Noah, as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water began to subside.
After them, seven heads of grain, thin and scorched by the east wind, sprouted up.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea. The Lord drove the sea back with a powerful east wind all that night and turned the sea into dry land. So the waters were divided,
“I will put anxiety in the hearts of those of you who survive in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a wind-driven leaf will put them to flight, and they will flee as one flees from a sword, and fall though no one is pursuing them.
A wind sent by the Lord came up and blew quail in from the sea; it dropped them at the camp all around, three feet off the ground, about a day’s journey in every direction.
He rode on a cherub and flew,soaring on the wings of the wind.
In a little while, the sky grew dark with clouds and wind, and there was a downpour. So Ahab got in his chariot and went to Jezreel.

Their inhabitants have become powerless,dismayed, and ashamed.They are plants of the field,tender grass,grass on the rooftops,blasted by the east wind.
Do you think that you can disprove my wordsor that a despairing man’s words are mere wind?
How long will you go on saying these things?Your words are a blast of wind.
Will You frighten a wind-driven leaf?Will You chase after dry straw?
Does a wise man answer with empty counselor fill himself with the hot east wind?
Are they like straw before the wind,like chaff a storm sweeps away?
Terrors overtake him like a flood;a storm wind sweeps him away at night.
An east wind picks him up, and he is gone;it carries him away from his place.
When God fixed the weight of the windand limited the water by measure,
Terrors are turned loose against me;they chase my dignity away like the wind,and my prosperity has passed by like a cloud.
You lift me up on the wind and make me ride it;You scatter me in the storm.
You whose clothes get hotwhen the south wind brings calm to the land,
Now men cannot even look at the sunwhen it is in the skies,after a wind has swept through and cleared them away.
What road leads to the place where light is dispersed?Where is the source of the east wind that spreads across the earth?
The wicked are not like this;instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
He will rain burning coals and sulfur on the wicked;a scorching wind will be their portion.

He made the east wind blow in the skiesand drove the south wind by His might.

But it was uprooted in fury,thrown to the ground,and the east wind dried up its fruit.Its strong branches were torn off and dried up;fire consumed them.
Your rowers have brought youonto the high seas,but the east wind has shattered youin the heart of the sea.
Then the iron, the fired clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were shattered and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors. The wind carried them away, and not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Indeed, they sow the windand reap the whirlwind.There is no standing grain;what sprouts fails to yield flour.Even if they did,foreigners would swallow it up.
Ephraim chases the windand pursues the east wind.He continually multiplies lies and violence.He makes a covenant with Assyria,and olive oil is carried to Egypt.
Although he flourishes among his brothers,an east wind will come,a wind from the Lord rising up from the desert.His water source will fail,and his spring will run dry.The wind will plunder the treasuryof every precious item.
Therefore, I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah,and it will consume its citadels.There will be shouting on the day of battleand a violent wind on the day of the storm.
He is here:the One who forms the mountains,creates the wind,and reveals His thoughts to man,the One who makes the dawn out of darknessand strides on the heights of the earth.Yahweh, the God of Hosts, is His name.
