'Without' in the Bible

Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but no one will be able to raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt without your permission.”

For how can I go back to my father without the boy? I could not bear to see the grief that would overwhelm my father.”

For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there will be five more years without plowing or harvesting.

“Return quickly to my father and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.

During the night Pharaoh got up, he along with all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was a loud wailing throughout Egypt because there wasn’t a house without someone dead.

Or if someone touches anything unclean—a carcass of an unclean wild animal, or unclean livestock, or an unclean swarming creature—without being aware of it, he is unclean and guilty.

Or if he touches human uncleanness—any uncleanness by which one can become defiled—without being aware of it, but later recognizes it, he is guilty.

Or if someone swears rashly to do what is good or evil—concerning anything a person may speak rashly in an oath—without being aware of it, but later recognizes it, he incurs guilt in such an instance.

He is to bring them to the priest, who will first present the one for the sin offering. He must twist its head at the back of the neck without severing it.

“If someone sins and without knowing it violates any of the Lord’s commands concerning anything prohibited, he bears the consequences of his guilt.

He said to Aaron, “Take a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present them before the Lord.

And tell the Israelites: Take a male goat for a sin offering; a calf and a lamb, male yearlings without blemish, for a burnt offering;

Moses spoke to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar: “Take the grain offering that is left over from the fire offerings to the Lord, and eat it prepared without yeast beside the altar, because it is especially holy.

If the man with the discharge touches anyone without first rinsing his hands in water, the person who was touched is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.

On the day you wave the sheaf, you are to offer a year-old male lamb without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord.

For the land abandoned by them will make up for its Sabbaths by lying desolate without the people, while they pay the penalty for their sin, because they rejected My ordinances and abhorred My statutes.

and if it was done unintentionally without the community’s awareness, the entire community is to prepare one young bull for a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord, with its grain offering and drink offering according to the regulation, and one male goat as a sin offering.

and any open container without a lid tied on it is unclean.

Tell the Israelites: When a man dies without having a son, transfer his inheritance to his daughter.

who will go out before them and come back in before them, and who will bring them out and bring them in, so that the Lord’s community won’t be like sheep without a shepherd.”

“But if anyone suddenly pushes a person without hostility or throws any object at him without malicious intent

or without looking drops a stone that could kill a person and he dies, but he was not his enemy and wasn’t trying to harm him,

Someone could flee there who committed manslaughter, killing his neighbor accidentally without previously hating him. He could flee to one of these cities and stay alive:

a land where you will eat food without shortage, where you will lack nothing; a land whose rocks are iron and from whose hills you will mine copper.

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns away from evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited Me against him, to destroy him without just cause.”

Are their tent cords not pulled up?They die without wisdom. >

He does great and unsearchable things,wonders without number.

Is bland food eaten without salt?Is there flavor in an egg white?

My days pass more swiftly than a weaver’s shuttle;they come to an end without hope.

Does papyrus grow where there is no marsh?Do reeds flourish without water?

He removes mountains without their knowledge,overturning them in His anger.

He does great and unsearchable things,wonders without number.

He batters me with a whirlwindand multiplies my wounds without cause.

My days fly by faster than a runner;they flee without seeing any good.

You will lie down without fear,and many will seek your favor.

They grope around in darkness without light;He makes them stagger like drunken men. >

His archers surround me.He pierces my kidneys without mercyand pours my bile on the ground.

You have humiliated me ten times now,and you mistreat me without shame.

He must return the fruit of his labor without consuming it;he doesn’t enjoy the profits from his trading.

Their bulls breed without fail;their cows calve and do not miscarry.

The dirt on his grave is sweet to him.Everyone follows behind him,and those who go before him are without number.

For you took collateral from your brothers without cause,stripping off their clothes and leaving them naked.

Without clothing, they spend the night naked,having no covering against the cold.

Without clothing, they wander about naked.They carry sheaves but go hungry.

It blasts at him without mercy,while he flees desperately from its grasp.

Foolish men, without even a name.They were forced to leave the land.

They tear up my path;they contribute to my destruction,without anyone to help them.

if I have eaten my few crumbs alonewithout letting the fatherless eat any of it—

if I have seen anyone dying for lack of clothingor a needy person without a cloak,

if I have consumed its produce without paymentor shown contempt for its tenants,

“I am pure, without transgression;I am clean and have no guilt.

Would I lie about my case?My wound is incurable,though I am without transgression.”

They die suddenly in the middle of the night;people shudder, then pass away.Even the mighty are removed without effort.

He shatters the mighty without an investigationand sets others in their place.

“Job speaks without knowledge;his words are without insight.”

Job opens his mouth in vainand multiplies words without knowledge.

For my arguments are without flaw;one who has perfect knowledge is with you.

But if they do not obey,they will cross the river of deathand die without knowledge.

if I have done harm to one at peace with meor have plundered my adversary without cause,

He says to himself, “I will never be moved—from generation to generation without calamity.”

No one who waits for Youwill be disgraced;those who act treacherously without causewill be disgraced.

Davidic.Vindicate me, Lord,because I have lived with integrityand have trusted in the Lord without wavering.

Do not be like a horse or mule,without understanding,that must be controlled with bit and bridleor else it will not come near you.

They hid their net for me without cause;they dug a pit for me without cause.

Do not let my deceitful enemies rejoice over me;do not let those who hate me without causelook at me maliciously.

“Certainly, man walks about like a mere shadow.Indeed, they frantically rush around in vain,gathering possessionswithout knowing who will get them.

For troubles without number have surrounded me;my sins have overtaken me; I am unable to see.They are more than the hairs of my head,and my courage leaves me.
