I declare unto thee, we speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. if you don't believe when I tell you what is plain, how should you believe, if I tell you of things more sublime? for no man hath penetrated into the secrets of heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man, who is in heaven.
he said to them, I must likewise proclaim the kingdom of God in other cities; for to that end am I sent.
from that time Jesus began to preach, "Repent, said he, for the kingdom of the Messiah draws nigh."

who of you that has an hundred sheep, will not, upon losing one, leave the ninety nine in the desart, to go after that which is lost, till he finds it? and when he hath found it, joyfully lay it upon his shoulders? and when he comes home, call his friends and neighbours together, and say to them, rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, that was lost? I tell you, that there shall likewise be greater joy in heaven for one sinner that repents, than for ninety nine just persons, that need no repentance. or if a woman, that has ten pieces of money, should lose one of them, will she not light a lamp, sweep the house, and carefully search, till she find it? and when 'tis found, will she not call her friends aud neighbours together, and say, rejoice with me, for I have found the piece, I had lost? even so, I assure you, the angels in heaven rejoice, when any one sinner becomes a penitent.
and she shall be deliver'd of a son, to whom you shall give the name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
whom God had ordained, thro' faith, to be the propitiatory victim by his blood, for the manifestation of his goodness, by patiently passing over their past transgressions: to manifest, I say, his goodness at this time: that he might appear to be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

and I tell thee likewise, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will hereafter build my church: and death shall not prevail against it.
and being come, he preached the glad tidings of peace to YOU who were afar off, and to US that were nigh. for thro' him both of us have access by the same spirit to the father. Therefore now, you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and domesticks of God's family,
You husband, love your spouse, even as Christ loved the church, and laid down his life for her: to sanctify and purify her by the ablution of his word, that he himself might make her appear illustrious to his own eye, a church without spot, or any thing like a defect; so as to be holy and irreprehensible.

by delivering you from this people, and from the Gentiles to whom I now send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and partake of the inheritance of the saints, by believing on me."
as the son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for all.
