'Put on' in the Bible

Let it be enough for such a man to have undergone the punishment which the church put on him;

For indeed in this we groan, ardently desiring to have put on our house which is from heaven;

if indeed having really put on a robe we shall not be found to be unclothed.

Yes, we who are in this tent certainly do sigh under our burdens, for we do not wish to lay aside that with which we are now clothed, but to put on more, so that our mortality may be absorbed in Life.

and no wonder; for satan himself may put on the appearance of an angel of light.
