so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and so that he may send you Jesus, whom he appointed long ago to be the Messiah.

When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning every one of you from your evil ways."

After the apostles heard this, they went into the Temple at daybreak and began to teach. The high priest and those who were with him arrived, called the Council and all the elders of Israel together, and sent word to the prison to have the men brought in.

But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our ancestors on their first trip.

I have surely seen the oppression of my people in Egypt, I've heard their groans, and I've come down to rescue them. Now come, I'll send you to Egypt.'

He has sent his word to the descendants of Israel and brought them the good news of peace through Jesus the Messiah. This man is the Lord of everyone.

"At that very moment three men arrived at the house where we were staying. They had been sent to me from Caesarea.

Then he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his home and saying, "Send messengers to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter.

When the church in Jerusalem heard this news, they sent Barnabas all the way to Antioch.

The jailer reported these words to Paul, and added, "The magistrates have sent word to release you. So come out now and go in peace."

That night the brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.

Then the brothers immediately sent Paul away to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed there.

Then he sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he himself stayed in Asia a while longer.

Even some officials of the province of Asia who were his friends sent him a message urging him not to risk his life in the theater.

When the uproar was over, Paul sent for the disciples and encouraged them. Then he said goodbye to them and left to go to Macedonia.

From Miletus he sent messengers to Ephesus to ask the elders of the church to meet with him.

As for the gentiles who have become believers, we have sent a letter with our decision that they should keep away from food that has been sacrificed to idols, from blood, from anything strangled, and from sexual immorality."

"Then he told me, "Go, because I'll send you far away to the gentiles.'"

Some days later, Felix arrived with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him talk about faith in Jesus the Messiah.

You must understand that this message about God's salvation has been sent to the gentiles, and they will listen."
