If God is given glory in him, God will give him glory in himself, and will give him glory even now.
my dear children, I am with you but for a little while. you shall seek me: but as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you, "where I am going you cannot come."
Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow now; but thou shalt follow afterwards.
Peter said to him, Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake.
I now leave you the blessing of peace, I give you the blessing of my own peace. I myself do not give it in the way the world gives it. Stop letting your hearts be troubled or timid.
And now I have said it to you before it come to pass, that when it may come to pass, ye may believe;
Now are ye clean, through the words which I have spoken unto you.
I no longer call you slaves, because the slave does not know what his master is doing; I now call you friends, because I have told you everything that I have learned from my Father.
if I had not come and spoken to them, they were not having sin; but now pretext they have not for their sin.
if I did not do among them the works that no other hath done, they were not having sin, and now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father;
Now this happened to fulfill the word that is written in their law, 'They hated me without reason.'
but these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember what I now tell you. I did not tell you so much at the beginning, because, I was then to be with you.
and now I go away to Him who sent me, and none of you doth ask me, Whither dost thou go?
And now that I have told you these things, your hearts are full of grief.
Yet it is nothing but the truth I now tell you, that it is better for you that I should go away. For if I do not go away, the Helper will not come into close fellowship with you, but if I do go away, I will send Him to be in close fellowship with you.
I have yet many things to say to you, but ye are not able to bear them now;
now Jesus perceiving that they had a mind to ask him, said to them, are you sollicitous about what I said, "within a little while ye shall not see me: but within a little while ye shall see me again?"
'And ye, therefore, now, indeed, have sorrow; and again I will see you, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one doth take from you,
till now ye did ask nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
for the Father tenderly loves you Himself, because you now tenderly love me and now believe that I have come from the Father.
I was sent by the father, and am come into the world: but now I leave the world, and am going to my father.
His disciples say to him, 'Lo, now freely thou dost speak, and no similitude speakest thou;
now we have known that thou hast known all things, and hast no need that any one do question thee; in this we believe that from God thou didst come forth.'
Jesus answered them, 'Now do ye believe? lo, there doth come an hour,
and now it hath come, that ye may be scattered, each to his own things, and me ye may leave alone, and I am not alone, because the Father is with me;
Jesus said these things; then, lifting his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the time has now come; give glory to your Son, so that the Son may give glory to you:
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
'And now, glorify me, Thou Father, with Thyself, with the glory that I had before the world was, with Thee;
"I have made your very self known to the men whom you have given me out of the world. At first they were yours, but now you have given them to me, and they have obeyed your message.
now they have known that all things, as many as Thou hast given to me, are from Thee,
for I have given them the words thou gavest me, and they have received them; they are now sure that I came from thee and believe that thou didst send me.
I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world now, but only for those whom you have given me, because they are yours --
and now I shall be no more in the world, but they will be in the world, when I am come to thee. holy father keep them by that authority, with which thou hast invested me, that they may be one, as we are.
As long as I was with them, I kept them by your power which you gave me, and I protected them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who is now doomed to be lost, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
'And now unto Thee I come, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves;
When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with his disciples over the brook Kedron; where there was a garden, into which He entred, and his disciples. Now Judas who was gone to betray Him,
now Judas, who was to betray him, knew the place: for Jesus and his disciples had frequently assembled there.
They replied to him, "Jesus the Nazarene." He said to them, "I am [he]." (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, was also standing with them.)
Now when Jesus had said to them, "I am [He]," they [all] moved backward and fell to the ground. [Note: This appears to have been done by some miraculous power].
Simon Peter therefore having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. Now the servant's name was Malchus.
Now Caiaphas was he that gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and'so did another disciple. Now that disciple was known unto the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;
now the servants and officers that were there, had made a coal-fire, for it was cold, to warm themselves: and Peter stood warming himself among them.
Now [when] he had said these [things], one of the officers who was standing by gave a slap in the face to Jesus, saying, "Do you reply to the high priest in this way?"
now Annas had sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him, “You aren’t one of His disciples too, are you?”
He denied it and said, “I am not!”
Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor's residence. Now it was early, and they did not enter into the governor's residence so that they would not be defiled, but could eat the Passover.
Jesus answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my officers had struggled that I might not be delivered up to Jews; but now my kingdom is not from hence.'
Now you have a custom to have me set one man free at your Passover time. So do you wish me to set the king of the Jews free?"
They shouted back, “Not this man, but Barabbas!”
Now Pilate went outside again and said to the Jewish authorities, "Look, I am bringing him out here to you, so you can know that I do not find him guilty of any crime."
Now when the high priests and their attendants saw him, they yelled, "Crucify him, crucify him!" Pilate said, "Take him and crucify him yourselves! I find nothing wrong about him."
Now when Pilate heard this he was the more afraid;
Now it was the Preparation of the passover: it was about the sixth hour. And he saith unto the Jews, Behold, your King!
now this inscription was read by many of the Jews: for Jesus was crucified nigh the city: and it was written in Syriac, Greek, and Latin.
The soldiers, after they had crucified Jesus, took his garments (and made four parts, to every soldier a part) and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but let us draw for it to see who gets it." This was to fulfill the Scripture which says, "They divided my clothes among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." Now this was what the soldiers did.
Now his mother and the sister of his mother, Mary the [wife] of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene were standing near the cross of Jesus.
After this, Jesus knowing that all things now have been finished, that the Writing may be fulfilled, saith, 'I thirst;'
now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon a stick of hyssop, and held it to his mouth.
Now for fear the bodies should remain upon the cross on the sabbath-day, for it was then the eve of the pascal-sabbath, a day of high solemnity, the Jews desired Pilate that their legs might be broke, and that they might be taken away.
But having come to Jesus, when they saw him now having died, they did not break his legs.
Now these things were done, that the scripture might be fulfilled, "A bone of him shall not be broken."
Now Nicodemus also, who had formerly come to Jesus at night, went and took a mixture of myrrh and aloes that weighed about one hundred pounds.
now near the place where he was crucified, there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which no body had ever yet been laid.
Now on the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb.
Now the cloth that had been around Jesus' head was not lying with the [other] linen cloths, but was rolled up by itself.
For until now they had not understood the inspired teaching, that He must rise again from among the dead.
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not now; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go directly to my brethren, and tell them, "I am to ascend to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God."
Now [when it] was evening on that day--the first [day] of the week--and the doors had been shut where the disciples were because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace to you."
After saying this, Jesus showed them His hands and His side, so they rejoiced when they saw the Lord [i.e., now convinced that He had indeed risen from the dead].
And Jesus said to them again, May peace be with you! As the Father sent me, even so I now send you.
Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who was called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
Jesus said to him,
Now Jesus also performed many other signs in the presence of the disciples which are not recorded in this book,
After these [things] Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. Now he revealed [himself] in this way:
And morning being now come, Jesus stood at the shore, yet indeed the disciples did not know that it is Jesus;
And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith to Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt on his fisher's coat, (for he was naked) and cast himself into the sea.
Jesus saith to them, 'Bring ye from the fishes that ye caught now;'
Jesus saith to them, Come, dine. Now not one of the disciples dared inquire, Who art thou? conscious that it was the Lord.
This was now the third time
Now when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon [son] of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs!"
He said to him a third time, Simon, son of John, am I dear to you? Now Peter was troubled in his heart because he put the question a third time, Am I dear to you? And he said to him, Lord, you have knowledge of all things; you see that you are dear to me. Jesus said to him, Then give my sheep food.
Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
Now Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also at the supper reclined on his bosom, and said, Lord, which is the person who betrayeth thee?
Now there are also many other [things] that Jesus did, which--if they were written down one after the other--I suppose not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.
Now, following His death on the cross [and resurrection], Jesus appeared alive [to His apostles] for forty days, and demonstrated by many convincing proofs [that He had been raised bodily from the dead]. [During that time] He also spoke to them about the [coming] kingdom of God.
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
They entered the city, and they went up to the upper room which was now their fixed place for meeting. Their names were Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the brother of James.
And in these days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, (now the number of the persons that were together was about an hundred and twenty,)
For he was now numbered with us and had obtained fellowship in this ministration.
Now this man acquired a field with his unrighteous wages. He fell headfirst and burst open in the middle, and all his insides spilled out.
Now it is written in the book of psalms, Desolate be his residence, may no one dwell in it: also, let another man take over his charge.
