Now some were shouting one thing, some another; for the assembly was in confusion, and most of the people did not know why they had come together.
When he had gone through those parts and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece.

But as he was discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, "Go away for the present, and when I find time I will summon you."
And when Paul arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, bringing many serious charges against him, which they could not prove.
When therefore they came together here, I did not delay, but on the next day took my seat on the tribunal and ordered the man to be brought in.
So on the next day Agrippa and Bernice came with great pomp and entered the audience room with the high ranking officers and the prominent men of the city. At the command of Festus, Paul was brought in.

But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand.
When this had happened, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured.
From there we sailed around and arrived at Rhegium, and a day later a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli.
There we found some brethren, and were invited to stay with them for seven days. And so we came to Rome.
And the brethren, when they heard of us, came from there as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. When Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage.
And when we came into Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier that guarded him.
They said to him, "We have not received letters from Judea concerning you, and none of the brethren who have come here has reported or spoken anything bad about you.
When they had appointed a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in great numbers. And he explained the matter to them from morning till evening, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the law of Moses and from the prophets.
And he stayed there two whole years in his own rented quarters and welcomed all who came to him,
asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last find the way to come to you.
I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have some harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
Why not say as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say "Let us do evil that good may come"? Their condemnation is just.
