The Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the proclamation might be fully announced, and that all the gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of a lion.

Therefore, having so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us??aving thrown off every encumbrance and the easily besetting sin??et us run with patience the race lying before us; looking away to the Author and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus; Who, in consideration of the joy lying before Him, endured the cross, despising shame, and hath taken a seat at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him Who hath endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye become weary, fainting in your souls.
For to this were ye called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow His steps; Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth; Who, when reviled, reviled not again; when suffering, was not threatening, but committed Himself to Him Who judgeth righteously;
Take, brethren, as an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets, who spake in the name of the Lord.
so that we ourselves glory in you in the assemblies of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which ye endure;
And let patience have a perfect work; that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.
For what glory is it, if, when sinning and being beaten, ye endure it? but, if, when doing well and suffering for it, ye endure it, this is acceptable with God.
and ye have forgotten the exhortation which, indeed, reasons with you as with sons: "My son, do not lightly regard the chastening of the Lord; neither faint, when reproved by Him;
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple. And He said to him, "Behold, you have been made well; sin no more, lest something worse befall you."
yea, we ourselves had in ourselves the sentence of death, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God, Who raiseth the dead;
Who delivered us out of so great a death, and will still deliver: on Whom we have set our hope, that He will also still deliver;
