'Days' in the Bible
Now Jesus having been born in Bethlehem of Judaea, in the days of Herod the king, behold magi from the east arrived at Jerusalem, saying,
Now in those days comes John the baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
and having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he hungered.
And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn so long as the bridegroom is with them? But days will come when the bridegroom will have been taken away from them, and then they will fast.
But from the days of John the baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens is taken by violence, and the violent seize on it.
For even as Jonas was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, thus shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
But Jesus, having called his disciples to him, said, I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed with me already three days and they have not anything they can eat, and I would not send them away fasting lest they should faint on the way.
And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.
and ye say, If we had been in the days of our fathers we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
But woe to those that are with child, and those that give suck in those days.
and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short.
But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
But as the days of Noe, so also shall be the coming of the Son of man.
For as they were in the days which were before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day on which Noe entered into the ark,
Ye know that after two days the passover takes place, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
and said, He said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and in three days build it.
and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou art Son of God, descend from the cross.
saying, Sir, we have called to mind that that deceiver said when he was still alive, After three days I arise.
teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have enjoined you. And behold, I am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.
And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptised by John at the Jordan.
And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
And he entered again into Capernaum after several days, and it was reported that he was at the house;
But days will come when the bridegroom shall have been taken away from them, and then shall they fast in that day.
In those days, there being again a great crowd, and they having nothing that they could eat, having called his disciples to him, he says to them,

And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and of the chief priests and of the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter and James and John, and takes them up on a high mountain by themselves apart. And he was transfigured before them:
for he taught his disciples and said to them, The Son of man is delivered into men's hands, and they shall kill him; and having been killed, after three days he shall rise again.
and they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him; and after three days he shall rise again.
But woe to those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days!
for those days shall be distress such as there has not been the like since the beginning of creation which God created, until now, and never shall be;
and if the Lord had not cut short those days, no flesh should have been saved; but on account of the elect whom he has chosen, he has cut short those days.
But in those days, after that distress, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give its light;
Now the passover and the feast of unleavened bread was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might seize him by subtlety and kill him.
We heard him saying, I will destroy this temple which is made with hands, and in the course of three days I will build another not made with hands.
And they that passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, and saying, Aha, thou that destroyest the temple and buildest it in three days,
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest, by name Zacharias, of the course of Abia, and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elizabeth.
And it came to pass, when the days of his service were completed, he departed to his house.
Now after these days, Elizabeth his wife conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
Thus has the Lord done to me in these days in which he looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.
And Mary, rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah,
in piety and righteousness before him all our days.
But it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census should be made of all the habitable world.
And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth to her child were fulfilled,
And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he had been conceived in the womb.
And when the days were fulfilled for their purifying according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord
and had completed the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents knew not of it;
And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them questions.
forty days, tempted of the devil; and in those days he did not eat anything, and when they were finished he hungered.
But of a truth I say to you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, so that a great famine came upon all the land,
And it came to pass on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and out of Jerusalem; and the Lord's power was there to heal them.
But days will come when also the bridegroom will have been taken away from them; then shall they fast in those days.
And it came to pass in those days that he went out into the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.
And it came to pass on one of the days, that he entered into a ship, himself and his disciples; and he said to them, Let us pass over to the other side of the lake; and they set off from shore.
And it came to pass after these words, about eight days, that taking Peter and John and James he went up into a mountain to pray.
And as the voice was heard Jesus was found alone: and they kept silence, and told no one in those days any of the things they had seen.
And it came to pass when the days of his receiving up were fulfilled, that he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.
But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus healed on the sabbath, answering said to the crowd, There are six days in which people ought to work; in these therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
And after not many days the younger son gathering all together went away into a country a long way off, and there dissipated his property, living in debauchery.
And he said to the disciples, Days are coming, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see it.
And as it took place in the days of Noe, thus also shall it be in the days of the Son of man:
and in like manner as took place in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
for days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall make a palisaded mound about thee, and shall close thee around, and keep thee in on every side,
And it came to pass on one of the days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and announcing the glad tidings, the chief priests and the scribes with the elders came up,
As to these things which ye are beholding, days are coming in which there shall not be left stone upon stone which shall not be thrown down.
for these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished.
But woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days, for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people.
and having learned that he was of Herod's jurisdiction, remitted him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem in those days.
for behold, days are coming in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and wombs that have not borne, and breasts that have not given suck.
And one of them, named Cleopas, answering said to him, Thou sojournest alone in Jerusalem, and dost not know what has taken place in it in these days?
After this he descended to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brethren and his disciples; and there they abode not many days.
Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple building, and thou wilt raise it up in three days?
When therefore the Samaritans came to him they asked him to abide with them, and he abode there two days.
But after the two days he went forth thence and went away into Galilee,
When therefore he heard, He is sick, he remained two days then in the place where he was.
Jesus therefore on arriving found him to have been four days already in the tomb.
Jesus says, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead, says to him, Lord, he stinks already, for he is four days there.
Jesus therefore, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where was the dead man Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from among the dead.
And eight days after, his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus comes, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be to you.
to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;
For John indeed baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.
And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names who were together was about a hundred and twenty,)
And it shall be in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams;
yea, even upon my bondmen and upon my bondwomen in those days will I pour out of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
And indeed all the prophets from Samuel and those in succession after him, as many as have spoken, have announced also these days.
for before these days Theudas rose up, alleging himself to be somebody, to whom a number of men, about four hundred, were joined; who was slain, and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed and came to nothing.
After him rose Judas the Galilean in the days of the census, and drew away a number of people after him; and he perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
But in those days, the disciples multiplying in number, there arose a murmuring of the Hellenists against the Hebrews because their widows were overlooked in the daily ministration.
And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
which also our fathers, receiving from their predecessors, brought in with Joshua when they entered into possession of the lands of the nations, whom God drove out from the face of our fathers, until the days of David;
And he was three days without seeing, and neither ate nor drank.
and, having received food, got strength. And he was with the disciples who were in Damascus certain days.
Now when many days were fulfilled, the Jews consulted together to kill him.
And it came to pass in those days that she grew sick and died; and, having washed her, they put her in the upper room.
And it came to pass that he remained many days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.
And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been fasting unto this hour, and the ninth I was praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then they begged him to stay some days.
Now in these days prophets went down from Jerusalem to Antioch;
And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he went on to take Peter also: (and they were the days of unleavened bread:)
