'Says' in the Bible
But I say to you that everyone who is angry at his brother will be subject to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, 'Stupid fool!' will be subject to the council, and whoever says, 'Obstinate fool!' will be subject to fiery hell.
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came out.' And [when it] arrives it finds [the house] unoccupied and swept and put in order.
and with reference to them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says, "{You will listen carefully} and will never understand, and {you will look closely} and will never perceive.
But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or his mother, "Whatever {benefit you would have received} from me [is] a gift [to God],"
And if anyone says anything to you, you will say, 'The Lord {needs them},' and he will send them at once."
And he said, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is near. I am celebrating the Passover with you with my disciples." '
But you say, 'If a man says to his father or to his mother, "Whatever {benefit you would have received} from me [is] corban" (that is, a gift [to God]),
And if anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say 'The Lord has need of it, and will send it here again at once.'"
Truly I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be [done] for him.
and wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?" '
And no one [after] drinking old [wine] wants new, because he says, 'The old is [just] fine!'"
"Whenever an unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it travels through waterless places searching for rest, and does not find [it]. It says, 'I will return to my house from which I came out.'
For David himself says in the book of Psalms, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,
And you will say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says to you, "Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?" '
His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do [it]!"
Jesus answered and said to her, "If you had known the gift of God and who it is who says to you, 'Give me [water] to drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."
So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it apart, but cast lots for it, [to see] whose it will be," so that the scripture would be fulfilled that says, "They divided my garments among themselves, and for my clothing they cast lots." Thus the soldiers did these [things].
And again another scripture says, "They will look on [the one] whom they have pierced."
'And it will be in the last days,' God says, 'I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.
For David says with reference to him, 'I saw the Lord before me {continually}, for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken.
For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,
Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You will listen to him in everything that he says to you.
But the Most High does not live in [houses] made by human hands, just as the prophet says,
'Heaven [is] my throne and earth [is] the footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what [is the] place of my rest?
Therefore he also says in another [psalm], 'You will not permit your Holy One to experience decay.'
so that the rest of humanity may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles {who are called by my name}, says the Lord, who makes these [things]
And he came to us and took Paul's belt. Tying up his own feet and hands, he said, "This is what the Holy Spirit says: 'In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will tie up the man whose belt this is, and will deliver [him] into the hands of the Gentiles.'"
The one who says not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? The one who abhors idols, do you rob temples?
Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those under the law, in order that every mouth may be closed and the whole world may become accountable to God.
For to Moses he says, "I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I have compassion."
For the scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very [reason] I have raised you up, so that I may demonstrate my power in you, and so that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."
As he also says in Hosea, "I will call those [who were] not my people, 'My people,' and those [who were] not loved, 'Loved.'
For the scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."
But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
But I say, Israel did not know, did they? First, Moses says, "I will provoke you [to jealousy] by [those who are] not a nation; by a senseless nation I will provoke you [to anger]."
And Isaiah is very bold and says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I became known to those who did not ask for me."
But about Israel he says, "The whole day [long] I held out my hands to a disobedient and resistant people."
God has not rejected his people, whom he foreknew! Or do you not know, in [the passage about] Elijah, what the scripture says--how he appeals to God against Israel?
And David says, "Let their table become a snare and a trap, and a cause for stumbling and a retribution to them;
Do not take revenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to [God's] wrath, for it is written, "Vengeance [is] mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will praise God."
And again it says, "Rejoice, Gentiles, with his people."
And again Isaiah says, "The root of Jesse will come, even the one who rises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will put their hope."
For whenever anyone says, "I am with Paul," and another, "I [am] with Apollos," are you not [merely] human?

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus [is] accursed," and no one is able to say "Jesus [is] Lord" except by the Holy Spirit.
In the law it is written: "By those who speak a foreign language and by the lips of others I will speak to this people, and not even in this way will they obey me," says the Lord.
the women must be silent in the churches, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but they must be in submission, just as the law also says.
For "he subjected all [things] under his feet." But when it says "all [things]" are subjected, [it is] clear that the one who subjected all [things] to him [is] not included.
For he says, "At the acceptable time I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now [is] the acceptable time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation!
Therefore "come out from their midst and be separate," says the Lord, "and do not touch what is unclean, and I will welcome you,
and I will be a father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me," says the all-powerful Lord.
Therefore it says, "Ascending on high he led captivity captive; he gave gifts to men."
for everything made visible is light. Therefore it says, Wake up, sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,
For the scripture says, "You must not muzzle an ox [while it] is threshing," and "The worker [is] worthy of his wages."
And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, "And let all [the] angels of God worship him."
And concerning the angels he says, "The one who makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire,"
Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice,
just as also in another [place] he says, "You [are] a priest {forever} according to the order of Melchizedek,"
who serve a sketch and shadow of the heavenly [things], just as Moses was warned [when he] was about to complete the tabernacle, for he says, "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern which was shown to you on the mountain."
For in finding fault with them he says, "Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, when I will complete a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took hold of them by my hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they did not continue in my covenant and I disregarded them, says the Lord.
For this [is] the covenant that I will decree with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I am putting my laws in their minds and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be {their} God and they will be {my} people.
[When he] says above, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [offerings] for sin you did not want, nor did you delight in," which are offered according to the law,
"This [is] the covenant that I will decree for them after those days, says the Lord: I am putting my laws on their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."
[He] also [says], "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will never remember again."
What [is] the benefit, my brothers, if someone says [that he] has faith but does not have works? That faith [is] not able to save him, [is it]?
And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness," and he was called God's friend.
For we all stumble [in] many [ways]. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he [is] a perfect individual, able to hold in check his whole body also.
Or do you think that in vain the scripture says, "The spirit which he caused to dwell in us desires jealously"?
But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
The one who says "I have come to know him," and does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in this person.
The one who says [that he] resides in him ought also to walk just as that one walked.
The one who says [he] is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness until now.
If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar, for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen is not able to love God whom he has not seen.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, the one who is and the one who was and the one who is coming, the All-Powerful.
"To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: "This is what the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand says, the one who walks in the midst of the seven gold lampstands:
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will grant to him to eat from the tree of life which is in the paradise of God.'
"And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: "This is what the first and the last says, who was dead and came to life:
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will never be harmed by the second death.'
"And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: "This is what the one who has the sharp double-edged sword says:
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will give to him [some] of the hidden manna, and I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, that no one knows except the one who receives [it].'

The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
"And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: "This is what the one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says: 'I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, and you are dead.
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: "This is what the holy one, the true one, the one who has the key of David, the one who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one can open, says:
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
"And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: "This is what the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the originator of God's creation, says:
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write: 'Blessed [are] the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "in order that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow after them."
