'Man's' in the Bible
The Lord smelled the soothing aroma; and the Lord said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.
Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man.
“Whoever sheds man’s blood,By man his blood shall be shed,For in the image of GodHe made man.
Now therefore, restore the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”
Then Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain and to restore every man’s money in his sack, and to give them provisions for the journey. And thus it was done for them.
Now it came about as they were emptying their sacks, that behold, every man’s bundle of money was in his sack; and when they and their father saw their bundles of money, they were dismayed.
and it came about when we came to the lodging place, that we opened our sacks, and behold, each man’s money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full. So we have brought it back in our hand.
Then he commanded his house steward, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack.
But we said, ‘We cannot go down. If our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down; for we cannot see the man’s face unless our youngest brother is with us.’
The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
but every man’s slave purchased with money, after you have circumcised him, then he may eat of it.
“If one man’s ox hurts another’s so that it dies, then they shall sell the live ox and divide its price equally; and also they shall divide the dead ox.
“If a man lets a field or vineyard be grazed bare and lets his animal loose so that it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard.
“If a man gives his neighbor money or goods to keep for him and it is stolen from the man’s house, if the thief is caught, he shall pay double.
Also the priest who presents any man’s burnt offering, that priest shall have for himself the skin of the burnt offering which he has presented.
‘If there is a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
So every man’s holy gifts shall be his; whatever any man gives to the priest, it becomes his.’”
“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘If any man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him,
There you will serve gods, the work of man’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.
“A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
and she leaves his house and goes and becomes another man’s wife,
As the day began to dawn, the woman came and fell down at the doorway of the man’s house where her master was, until full daylight.
They said, “You have not defrauded us or oppressed us or taken anything from any man’s hand.”
Then Saul and all the people who were with him rallied and came to the battle; and behold, every man’s sword was against his fellow, and there was very great confusion.
David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail on account of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”
(now the man’s name was Nabal, and his wife’s name was Abigail. And the woman was intelligent and beautiful in appearance, but the man was harsh and evil in his dealings, and he was a Calebite),
“Now a traveler came to the rich man,And he was unwilling to take from his own flock or his own herd,To prepare for the wayfarer who had come to him;Rather he took the poor man’s ewe lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”
It came about at the seventh time, that he said, “Behold, a cloud as small as a man’s hand is coming up from the sea.” And he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, so that the heavy shower does not stop you.’”
Then Jehoash said to the priests, “All the money of the sacred things which is brought into the house of the Lord, in current money, both the money of each man’s assessment and all the money which any man’s heart prompts him to bring into the house of the Lord,
‘Are Your days as the days of a mortal,Or Your years as man’s years,
Water wears away stones,Its torrents wash away the dust of the earth;So You destroy man’s hope.
“This is the wicked man’s portion from God,Even the heritage decreed to him by God.”
“You say, ‘God stores away a man’s iniquity for his sons.’Let God repay him so that he may know it.
And wine which makes man’s heart glad,So that he may make his face glisten with oil,And food which sustains man’s heart.
Their idols are silver and gold,The work of man’s hands.
The idols of the nations are but silver and gold,The work of man’s hands.
The rich man’s wealth is his fortress,The ruin of the poor is their poverty.
A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words,And the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him.
From the fruit of a man’s mouth he enjoys good,But the desire of the treacherous is violence.
The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth,But the poor hears no rebuke.
When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord,He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters;The fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.
A rich man’s wealth is his strong city,And like a high wall in his own imagination.
A man’s gift makes room for himAnd brings him before great men.
With the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach will be satisfied;He will be satisfied with the product of his lips.
A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger,And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.
Many plans are in a man’s heart,But the counsel of the Lord will stand.
Man’s steps are ordained by the Lord,How then can man understand his way?
Every man’s way is right in his own eyes,But the Lord weighs the hearts.
Oil and perfume make the heart glad,So a man’s counsel is sweet to his friend.
A man’s pride will bring him low,But a humble spirit will obtain honor.
The wise man’s eyes are in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I know that one fate befalls them both.
All a man’s labor is for his mouth and yet the appetite is not satisfied.
Who is like the wise man and who knows the interpretation of a matter? A man’s wisdom illumines him and causes his stern face to beam.
For there is a proper time and procedure for every delight, though a man’s trouble is heavy upon him.
A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man’s heart directs him toward the left.
Indeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything that is to come will be futility.
Therefore all hands will fall limp,And every man’s heart will melt.
I know, O Lord, that a man’s way is not in himself,Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.
For you will no longer remember the oracle of the Lord, because every man’s own word will become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God.

and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
Or how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”
When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this Man’s blood; see to that yourselves.”
But no one can enter the strong man’s house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.
But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and *said, “Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”
“Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves behind a wife and leaves no child, his brother should marry the wife and raise up children to his brother.
and longing to be fed with the crumbs which were falling from the rich man’s table; besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores.
and they questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies, having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should marry the wife and raise up children to his brother.
Then the slave-girl who kept the door *said to Peter, “You are not also one of this man’s disciples, are you?” He *said, “I am not.”
saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
The Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings. These six brethren also went with me and we entered the man’s house.
For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
And thus I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man’s foundation;
each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.
If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.
If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.
I mean not your own conscience, but the other man’s; for why is my freedom judged by another’s conscience?
for indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but woman for the man’s sake.
but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
Brethren, I speak in terms of human relations: even though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it.
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth;
