'Pray' in the Bible
And I likewise, my brethren and my servants, do lend them money and grain. I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their fields, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice; Yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, And apply thyself to that which their fathers have searched out:
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
Let me not, I pray you, respect any man's person; Neither will I give flattering titles unto any man.
Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, And hearken to all my words.
Now therefore, take unto you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, that I deal not with you after your folly; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; For unto thee do I pray.
For this let every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely when the great waters overflow they shall not reach unto him.

Let, I pray thee, thy lovingkindness be for my comfort, According to thy word unto thy servant.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee.
And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I am not learned.
Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.

Jehovah is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: Hear, I pray you, all ye peoples, and behold my sorrow: My virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people talk of thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from Jehovah.
O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, let thine anger and thy wrath, I pray thee, be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are round about us.

and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: I pray thee , that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live.
And after he had taken leave of them, he departed into the mountain to pray.
Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.

And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them; I pray thee have me excused.
And he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house;
And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,
In that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you;
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:
I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one .
Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;
Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee.
And Simon answered and said, Pray ye for me to the Lord, that none of the things which ye have spoken come upon me.
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other?

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it , do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and every work of faith, with power;
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also it is with you;
I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.
Pray for us: for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.
