But [when he] heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream, he took refuge in the regions of Galilee.
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John in order to be baptized by him.

Now [as he] was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew, throwing a casting net into the sea (for they were fishermen).
And he went around through all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
And large crowds followed him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from the other side of the Jordan.
Now when Jesus saw large crowds around Him, He gave orders [i.e., to His followers] to leave for the other side [i.e., to go from the west to the east side of Lake Galilee].
Then Jesus entered a boat and crossed [back] over [Lake Galilee] and came to His own city [i.e., Capernaum].
On that [same] day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down on the shore of the lake [i.e., Lake Galilee].
Then immediately Jesus ordered the disciples to enter the boat and row on ahead of Him to the other side [i.e., to the west side of Lake Galilee] until He could send the crowds away.
And departing from there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee, and he went up on the mountain [and] was sitting there.
Jesus then sent the crowds away while He boarded a boat and crossed the lake to the region of Magadan [i.e., the west side of Lake Galilee].
22 While they were together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
Now [as] they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men,
And it happened that when Jesus had finished these statements, he went away from Galilee and came into the region of Judea on the other side of the Jordan.
And the crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee!"
But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."
Peter sat without in the palace, and a damsel came to him, saying, "Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee."
And there were many women there, observing from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him,
And go quickly, tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and behold, he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.' Behold, I have told you."
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid! Go tell my brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see me."
So the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated for them.
And it happened that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
And after John {had been taken into custody}, Jesus went into Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God
And [as he] was passing by along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, casting [a net] into the sea (for they were fishermen).
So, they went to Capernaum [Note: This was a city in Galilee that later became Jesus' headquarters while in Galilee. See verse
And the report about him then went out everywhere in the whole surrounding region of Galilee.
And he went into all Galilee preaching in their synagogues and expelling demons.
And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great number from Galilee came after him: and from Judaea,
And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea, and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond Jordan; and those about Tyre and Sidon, a great number, hearing how great things He did, came unto Him.
Jesus again began teaching along the shore of the lake [of Galilee]. A huge crowd gathered around Him so that He had to sit in a boat out in the lake [to speak to them], while all the crowd stood on the shore.
When evening came that day He said to the disciples, "Let us go over to the other side [i.e., the east side of Lake Galilee]."
And the chance came when Herod on his birthday gave a feast to his lords, and the high captains, and the chief men of Galilee;
And about then Jesus compelled His disciples to get into a boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side [i.e., to the west side of Lake Galilee] to Bethsaida [Note: This was apparently a different "Bethsaida" from the one mentioned in Luke 9:10, which was on the east side of Lake Galilee], while He Himself sent the crowd away.
And when they had [finally] crossed over [i.e., to the west side of Lake Galilee], they arrived in the district of Gennesaret and moored the boat on shore.
Now the woman was a Greek [i.e., a Gentile], a Syrophoenician by nationality. [Note: This was a region just north of Galilee and consisted of Syria and Phoenicia]. She begged Him to drive out the evil spirit from her daughter.
And again he went out from Tyre, and came through Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the country of Decapolis.
Then He left them and boarded a boat again and sailed to the other side [i.e., the east side of Lake Galilee].
miles north of Lake Galilee]. On their way, He asked His disciples, "Who are people saying that I am?"
Then Jesus and His disciples left Galilee and went to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way there He was asking His disciples, "Who do people say that I am?"
And they went out from there, through Galilee; and it was his desire that no man might have knowledge of it;
Then Jesus and His disciples came to Capernaum [Note: This city on the northwest shore of Lake Galilee had become sort of a headquarters for Jesus when He was in this region]. When He [and His disciples] entered a house He asked them, "What were you discussing on the way here?"
But after I have come back from the dead, I will go before you into Galilee.
And he denied it again. And anon after, they that stood by, said again to Peter, "Surely thou art one of them, for thou art of Galilee, and thy speech agreeth thereto."
Who went with him when he was in Galilee and took care of him; and a number of other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
But go, say to his disciples and to Peter, He goes before you into Galilee: there you will see him, as he said to you.
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town in Galilee, named Nazareth,
And Joseph went up from Galilee, out of the town of Nazareth, into Judaea, to Beth-lehem, the town of David, because he was of the house and family of David,
And when they had done all the things which were ordered by the law of the Lord, they went back to Galilee, to Nazareth, the town where they were living.

Now it happened while Jesus was standing on the shore of Lake Genneseret [i.e., Lake Galilee] that the crowd was pushing closer to Him to hear God's message.
And it happened while Jesus was in one of the towns [i.e., surrounding Lake Galilee], that a man covered with an infectious skin disease appeared and, when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face [to the ground] and begged Him, saying, "If you want to, you can heal me." [Note: Throughout this narrative the terms "heal/healing" are originally "clean/cleansing" because the Jews viewed a person with such a disease as ceremonially "unclean." See Lev. 13:1-3].
And it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.
And it happened soon after this that Jesus went to a town called Nain [Note: This was a town of Galilee about
Soon afterwards He chanced to be making a tour of Galilee from town to town and from village to village preaching and telling the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve went with Him,
Now it happened on one of those days that Jesus entered a boat with His disciples. He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side" [i.e., the east side of Lake Galilee]; so they launched out.
And they arrived at the country of the Gerasenes, which is over against Galilee.
Then all the people of the country of the Gerasenes and the surrounding district asked Him to leave them, because they were overwhelmed with fear. So Jesus got into the boat and returned [to the west side of the Sea of Galilee].
Now as Jesus was returning [to Galilee], the people welcomed Him, for they had all been expecting Him.
When the apostles returned they told Jesus what they had done. Then Jesus took them and went away privately to a town called Bethsaida. [Note: This town was on the east side of Lake Galilee, and apparently was a different "Bethsaida" from the one mentioned in Mark 6:45].
Now there were some there at that very time who told Jesus about some people from Galilee whose blood Pilate [the Roman governor] had mixed with their sacrifices [i.e., he had them murdered while they were offering their sacrifices].
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
And about the space of a hour after, another affirmed, saying, "Verily even this fellow was with him, for he is of Galilee."
But they were the more urgent, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judaea, and beginning from Galilee even unto this place.
But Pilate, having heard Galilee named, demanded if the man were a Galilaean;
But all his acquaintances, and the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed with him from Galilee, stood afar off, seeing these things.
The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid.
And the women, who had come with him out of Galilee, followed after, and beheld the tomb, and how his body was laid.
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
The day following Jesus having a mind to go into Galilee, met with Philip, and said to him, follow me.
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, Andrew's and Peter's home town. [Note: This town was on the northwest shore of Lake Galilee, a few miles from Capernaum].
Three days after, there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee; where the mother of Jesus was present.
thus was the first miracle of Jesus wrought at Cana in Galilee, by which he displayed his power; and his disciples believed on him.
After this incident, Jesus, His mother, His [half-] brothers and His disciples went down to Capernaum [i.e., located on the north shore of Lake Galilee] and stayed there a few days.
So when the Lord learned that the Pharisees had been told that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John??2 though it was not Jesus himself who baptized them, but his disciples??3 he left Judea and went back again to Galilee.
and returned into Galilee.
[Now to get to Galilee] it required that Jesus travel through Samaria [Note: Samaria was the next country north of Judea].
Two days after, he departed thence, and went into Galilee:
when he was come into Galilee, he was well received by the Galileans, who had seen all that he did at Jerusalem during the feast: for they likewise went to the feast.
Jesus went therefore a second time to Cana in Galilee, where he had changed the water into wine. now a certain nobleman was there, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
who having heard that Jesus was come out of Judea into Galilee, he went there to desire him to come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
Jesus did this second miracle when he return'd from Judea to Galilee.
At length Jesus passed over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias;
Then Jesus went up to a high plateau [Note: This place, northeast of Lake Galilee, is called "The Golan Heights," today] and sat down there with His disciples.
And after these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
And having said these things unto them, he abode'still in Galilee.
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee?
But some said, Doth Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
Search and see, that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. And every man went to his own house.
there were certain Greeks, who address'd themselves to Philip, who was of Bethsaida in Galilee, saying, sir, we would fain see Jesus.
After these things happened Jesus showed Himself to His disciples again at Lake Tiberias. [Note: This was another name for Lake Galilee]. Here is the way He did it.

and the men, filled with amazement, exclaimed, "What kind of man is this? for the very winds and waves obey him!" On His arrival at the other side, in the country of the Gadarenes, there met Him two men possessed by demons, coming from among the tombs: they were so dangerously fierce that no one was able to pass that way. They cried aloud, "What hast Thou to do with us, Thou Son of God? Hast Thou come here to torment us before the time?" Now at some distance from them a vast herd of swine were feeding. So the demons entreated Him. "If Thou drivest us out," they said, "send us into the herd of swine." "Go," He replied. Then they came out from the men and went into the swine, whereupon the entire herd instantly rushed down the cliff into the Lake and perished in the water.
But towards daybreak He went to them, walking over the waves. When the disciples saw Him walking on the waves, they were greatly alarmed. "It is a spirit," they exclaimed, and they cried out with terror. But instantly Jesus spoke to them, and said, "There is no danger; it is I; do not be afraid." "Master," answered Peter, "if it is you, bid me come to you upon the water." "Come," said Jesus. Then Peter climbed down from the boat and walked upon the water to go to Him. But when he felt the wind he grew frightened, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Master, save me." Instantly Jesus stretched out His hand and caught hold of him, saying to him, "O little faith, why did you doubt?" So they climbed into the boat, and the wind lulled; and the men on board fell down before him and said, "You are indeed God's Son."
When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Push out into deep water, and let down your nets for a haul." "Rabbi," replied Peter, "all night long we have worked hard and caught nothing; but at your command I will let down the nets." This they did, and enclosed a vast number of fish; and their nets began to break. So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them; they came, and they filled both the boats so that they almost sank. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, and exclaimed, "Master, leave my boat, for I am a sinful man." (For he was astonished and terrified--he and all his companions--at the haul of fish which they had taken;
When, however, day was now dawning, Jesus stood on the beach, though the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. He called to them. "Children," He said, "have you any food there?" "No," they answered. "Throw the net in on the right hand side," He said, "and you will find fish." So they threw the net in, and now they could scarcely drag it along for the quantity of fish. This made the disciple whom Jesus loved say to Peter, "It is the Master." Simon Peter therefore, when he heard the words, "It is the Master," drew on his fisherman's shirt--for he had not been wearing it--put on his girdle, and sprang into the water. But the rest of the disciples came in the small boat (for they were not far from land--only about a hundred yards off) As soon as they landed, they saw a charcoal fire burning there, with fish broiling on it, and bread close by. Jesus told them to fetch some of the fish which they had just caught. So Simon Peter went on board the boat and drew the net ashore full of large fish, 153 in number; and yet, although there were so many, the net had not broken.
