'That Which Is Good' in the Bible
Did, then, that which is good become death to me? It could not be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; that sin, through the commandment, might become exceedingly sinful.
For I know that there dwells not in me, that is, in my flesh, any good; for to wish is present with me: but to do that which is good a not.
Let love be without hypocrisy; abhorring that which is evil; cleaving to that which is good;
for rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And do you wish not to fear the authority? Do that which is good, and you shall have praise from the same;
Let each one of us please his neighbor in that which is good for his edification;
For your obedience reached unto all. I rejoice, therefore, over you; but I wish you to be wise as to that which is good, but simple as to evil.
