but, as it is, I wrote not to keep company, if anyone, called a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner??ith such a one, not even to eat.

Do not, therefore, become partakers with them;

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, being ill, was about to die.

But ye say, 'Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, That by which you might be profited by me is an offering,'

"Honor your father and mother" (which, indeed, is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth."

Children, obey your parents in all things; for this is well pleasing in the Lord.

and that, from a babe, you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus.

and said, "Verily I say to you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Whosoever, therefore, shall humble himself as this little child, he is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

for the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all those afar off??s many as the Lord our God shall call to Him."

And, behold, one, having come near, said to Him, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"

Suggesting these things to the brethren, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith and of the good teaching which you have strictly followed;

holding fast the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in the healthful doctrine, and to convict those who contradict.

But speak the things which become the healthful teaching;

Remember those who are your leaders, who spake to you the word of God; and, considering the issue of whose manner of life, imitate their faith.

Let no one despise your youth; but become a model for believers, in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

neither as lording it over the allotted charges, but becoming examples to the flock;

in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in teaching, showing incorruptness, gravity, sound speech not to be condemned; that he who is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say concerning us.

having a good conscience; that, in whatever ye are spoken against, those who revile your good conduct may be put to shame.

holding faith, and a good conscience, which some having thrust from them made shipwreck concerning the faith;

For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief;

In this I myself also am striving always to have a conscience void of offense toward God and men.

And one Ananias, a devout, man according to the law, well spoken of by all the resident Jews,

And they said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and one fearing God, well reported of also by all the nation of the Jews, was divinely warned by a holy angel to send for you to his house, and to hear words from you."

but look ye out, brethren, from among yourselves, seven well-attested men, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint over this business;

For by grace ye have been saved through faith: and this, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any one should boast;

Who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose, and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before eternal ages,

Wherefore? because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at the Stone of stumbling;

yet knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of law; because by works of law no flesh shall be justified.

"I know your works and your toil, and your patience, and that you cannot bear evil men; and you tried those who call themselves apostles, and are not, and found them false;

Now there was in Joppa a certain disciple, Tabitha by name, (which being translated means Dorcas): this woman was full of good works and alms which she was accustomed to do.

for I hungered, and ye gave Me to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took Me in; naked, and ye clothed Me; I was sick, and ye looked after Me; I was in prison, and ye came to Me.'

remembering, without ceasing, your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

Take, brethren, as an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets, who spake in the name of the Lord.

For to this were ye called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow His steps;

not because we have not authority, but that we might give ourselves as a model to you, that ye might imitate us.

And the angel, answering, said to him, "I am Gabriel, who have been standing near before God, and I was sent to speak to you, and to proclaim these glad tidings to you.

having your conduct seemly among the gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may, from your good works which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. But some one will say, "You have faith, and I have works": show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

"Ye are the salt of the earth; but, if the salt become tasteless, with what shall it be salted? It is henceforth good for nothing, except, when cast without, to be trodden under foot by men.

Salt is good; but, if the salt becomes saltless, with what will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another."

In like manner, ye wives, be subject to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they may, without the word, be gained through the conduct of their wives, having beheld your chaste conduct mingled with fear:

For what do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or what do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?

And, if any wife has an unbelieving husband, and he is pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified in the brother; else your children are unclean; but as it is they are holy.

Let the wives keep silence in the assemblies; for it is not permitted them to speak, but let them be in subjection, as also says the law.

And, the sabbath having past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that, coming, they might anoint Him.

and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary who is called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,

Now on the first day of the sabbaths Mary Magdelene comes early in the morning while it was yet dark to the tomb, and sees the stone taken out of the tomb. She runs, therefore, and comes to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and says to them, "They took away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they laid Him!"

But Mary was standing without by the tomb, weeping. So, as she was weeping, she stooped to look into the tomb; and she beholds two angels in white, sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She says to them, "Because they took away my Lord, and I know not where they laid Him!" read more.
Having said these things, she turned back, and beholds Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, says to Him, "Sir, if thou didst bear Him away, tell me where thou didst lay Him, and I will take Him away!" Jesus saith to her, "Mary!" Turning, she says to Him, in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher).

but of one thing there is need; for Mary chose the good part, which, indeed, shall not be taken away from her."

Now Jesus was loving Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

And, while He was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as He was reclining at table, there came a woman having an alabaster cruse of ointment of pure spikenard, very costly; and, having broken the cruse, she was pouring it down on His bead. But there were some who were much displeased among themselves, saying, "To what purpose has this waste of the ointment been made? For this ointment could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given to the poor!" And they were murmuring against her. read more.
But Jesus said, "Let her alone; why do ye cause her trouble? She wrought a good work on Me; for the poor ye always have with you; and whensoever ye will, ye can do them good; but Me ye have not always. She did what she could: she anointed My body beforehand for the burial. And He saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow cast in more than they all; for all these, out of their superabundance, cast into the gifts; but she, out of her poverty, cast in all the living that she had."

And, haring taken a seat over against the treasury, He was beholding how the multitude cast money into the treasury; and many who were rich cast in much. And one poor widow, coming, cast in two mites, which is a farthing. And, calling to Him His disciples, He said to them, "Verily I say to you, this poor widow cast in more than all who are casting into the treasury; read more.
for they all did cast in out of their abundance; but she out of her want cast in all that she had??er whole living."

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the law blameless.

And it came to pass that, as Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit: and she lifted up her voice, with a loud cry, and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! What profit is it, my brethren, if anyone says he has faith, but has not works; can such faith save him? If a brother or a sister be naked, and in want of daily food, and one of you say to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," but ye give them not the things needful for the body, what does it profit? read more.

Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, free to impart, liberal;

And let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary wants, that they may not be unfruitful.

But, beloved, we have become persuaded better things concerning you, and things accompanying salvation, even though we thus speak; for God is not unrighteous to forget your work, and the love which ye showed toward His name, in having ministered to the saints, and still ministering.

For we must all be manifested before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to the things which he practiced, whether good or evil.

how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power; Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the Devil; because God was with Him.

Jesus answered them, "Many good works did I show you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me?"

'I say to you that to every one who has shall be given; but from him who has not shall be taken away even that which he has. But, these my enemies, who did not wish me to be king over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.'"

And, having received it, they murmured against the householder, saying, 'These last wrought but one hour, and you made them equal with us, who bore the burden of the day and the burning heat!' It behooved you, therefore, to put my money to the bankers; and, at my coming, I would have received my own with interest. Take from him, therefore, the talent, and give it to him who has the ten talents.' For, to every one that has, shall be given, and he shall be made to abound; but from him that has not shall be taken away even what he has;

And He spake this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, 'Behold, these three years I come, seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none; cut it down; why does it also make the land useless?' But he, answering, says to him, 'Lord, leave it this year also, until I dig about it, and cast in fertilizers. read more.
And if, indeed, it bear fruit for the future, well; but, if not, you shall cut it down.'"

In like manner also the works that are good are openly manifest; and those that are otherwise can not be hid.

In this was My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit, and become My disciples.

But he who looks carefully into a perfect law??hat of liberty??nd remains by it, becoming not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work??his man shall be happy in his doing.
