There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zachariah, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zachariah: for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS.

For he that is mighty has done to me great things; and holy is his name.

And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zachariah, after the name of his father.

And they said unto her, There is none of your kindred that is called by this name.

And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marveled all.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, who was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is your name? And he said, Legion: because many demons were entered into him.

And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receives me: and whosoever shall receive me receives him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

And John answered and said, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he follows not with us.

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us through your name.

And he said unto them, When you pray, say, Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, you shall not see me, until the time comes when you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

Saying, Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

And he said, Take heed that you be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draws near: go not therefore after them.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Are you a stranger in Jerusalem, and have not known the things which have come to pass there in these days?

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
