And Judas Iscariote, one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests that he might deliver him up to them;
And when they [i.e., the leading priests] realized this, they were very pleased and promised to give him money. So, Judas began looking for a convenient way to turn Jesus over to these Jewish leaders.

What comparison am I to make of the men of this generation? what are they like?
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
So He said,

And a man from the crowd shouted for help, “Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, because he is my only child;
Jesus answered,
'Lay ye to your ears these words, for the Son of Man is about to be delivered up to the hands of men.'
And He said to another, Follow thou me. And he said, Lord, permit me first having gone away to bury my father.
But he said to him, Let the dead take care of their dead; it is for you to go and give news of the kingdom of God.
And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! for if the works of power which have taken place in you had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they had long ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
And you, Capernaum! Are you to be exalted to the skies? You will go down among the dead!

Yes, Father, this was pleasing to you.
All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
And a certain lawyer [an expert in Mosaic Law] stood up to test Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
