You must not follow the statutes of the nations I am driving out before you, for they did all these things, and I abhorred them.
Therefore you must distinguish the clean animal from the unclean one, and the unclean bird from the clean one. Do not become contaminated
You must be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the other peoples to be mine.

Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, Aaron's sons, and say to them, 'One must not make himself unclean for a dead person among his [own] people,
He must not make himself unclean [as] {a kinsman by marriage}, defiling himself.
Priests must not have a bald spot shaved on their head, they must not shave the corner of their beard, and they must not cut slashes in their body.
They are to be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God.
They must not take a wife defiled by prostitution, nor are they to take a wife divorced from her husband, for the priest is holy to his God.
You must sanctify him because he presents the food of your God. He must be holy to you because I, the Lord who sanctifies you all, am holy.
If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by promiscuity,
“The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained
He must not go near any dead person or make himself unclean even for his father or mother.
He must not leave the sanctuary or he will desecrate the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him;
" 'And he himself must take a wife in her virginity.
A widow or a divorced woman or a defiled [woman], a prostitute--these he must not take; he shall take only a virgin from his people [as] wife.
He must not profane his children among his people, for I am the Lord who sanctifies him.'"
No man from the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a physical flaw may step forward to present the Lord's gifts; he has a physical flaw, so he must not step forward to present the food of his God.
He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
But he must not enter the curtain, and he must not come near to the altar, because a physical defect [is] in him, and he must not profane my sanctuary, because I [am] Yahweh, who consecrates them.'"
"Tell Aaron and his sons that they must deal respectfully with the {Israelites}' votive offerings, and they must not profane my holy name, which they are consecrating to me; I [am] Yahweh.
Say to them, 'Throughout your generations, if any man from all your descendants approaches the holy offerings which the Israelites consecrate to the Lord while he is impure, that person must be cut off from before me. I am the Lord.

He must not eat an animal that died naturally or was mauled by wild beasts,

If anyone eats a holy offering in error,
The priests must not profane the holy offerings the Israelites give to the Lord
[it must be] without defect {to be acceptable for you}: a male among the cattle, among the sheep, or among the goats.
You must not present anything that has a flaw, because it will not be acceptable for your benefit.
Whoever offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord to fulfill a special vow to the Lord or as a freewill offering from the herd or from the flock, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish in it.
"'You must not present to the Lord something blind, or with a broken bone, or mutilated, or with a running sore, or with a festering eruption, or with a feverish rash. You must not give any of these as a gift on the altar to the Lord.
Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.
You are not to present to the Lord anything that has bruised, crushed, torn, or severed testicles;
Even from a foreigner you must not present the food of your God from such animals as these, for they are ruined and flawed; they will not be acceptable for your benefit.'"

You must not slaughter an ox or a sheep and its young on the same day.
And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahweh, you must sacrifice [it] to be acceptable for you.
It must be eaten on that day; you must not leave over [anything] from it until morning; I [am] Yahweh.
"You must be sure to do my commandments. I am the Lord.
You must not profane My holy name; I must be treated as holy
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them, 'These are the Lord's appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies -- my appointed times:
“Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest,
"'These are the Lord's appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time.
And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work.
You are to present a fire offering to the Lord for seven days. On the seventh day there will be a sacred assembly; you must not do any daily work.”
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them, 'When you enter the land that I am about to give to you and you gather in its harvest, then you must bring the sheaf of the first portion of your harvest to the priest,
and he must wave the sheaf before the Lord to be accepted for your benefit -- on the day after the Sabbath the priest is to wave it.
On the day you wave the sheaf you must also offer a flawless yearling lamb for a burnt offering to the Lord,
And you shall not eat bread or roasted grain or ripe grain until {this very same day}, until you present your God's offering. [This must be] {a lasting statute} for your generations in all your dwellings.
"'You must count for yourselves seven weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you bring the wave offering sheaf; they must be complete weeks.
You must count fifty days -- until the day after the seventh Sabbath -- and then you must present a new grain offering to the Lord.
You shall bring from your dwellings for a wave offering two [loaves of] bread {made with} two-tenths [of an ephah] of finely milled flour; they must be baked with leaven--[the] firstfruits {belonging to} Yahweh.
Along with the loaves of bread, you must also present seven flawless yearling lambs, one young bull, and two rams. They are to be a burnt offering to the Lord along with their grain offering and drink offerings, a gift of a soothing aroma to the Lord.
You must also offer one male goat for a sin offering and two yearling lambs for a peace offering sacrifice,
"'On this very day you must proclaim an assembly; it is to be a holy assembly for you. You must not do any regular work. This is a perpetual statute in all the places where you live throughout your generations.
And when you reap the harvest of your land, you must not finish the edge of your field at your reaping, and you must not glean the remnants of your harvest--you shall leave them behind for the needy and for the alien; I [am] Yahweh your God.'"
"Speak to the {Israelites}, saying, 'In the seventh month, on [the] first [day] of the month, {you must have} a rest period, a remembrance of [the trumpet] blast, a holy assembly.

" 'These [are] Yahweh's festivals, which you must proclaim, holy assemblies to present an offering made by fire to Yahweh--burnt offering and grain offering, sacrifice and libations, {each on its proper day}--
besides the Sabbaths of the Lord and all your gifts, votive offerings, and freewill offerings which you must give to the Lord.
"'On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the produce of the land, you must celebrate a pilgrim festival of the Lord for seven days. On the first day is a complete rest and on the eighth day is complete rest.
On the first day you must take for yourselves branches from majestic trees -- palm branches, branches of leafy trees, and willows of the brook -- and you must rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.
And you must hold it [as] a festival for Yahweh [for] seven days in the year; [it shall be] a {lasting statute} throughout your generations; in the seventh month you must hold it.
You must live in the booths [for] seven days; all the natives in Israel must live in the booths,
Outside the veil of the Testimony [between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place] in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron shall always keep the lamps
He must continually tend the lamps on the pure gold lampstand in the Lord’s presence.
"You must take choice wheat flour and bake twelve loaves; there must be two tenths of an ephah of flour in each loaf,
and you must set them in two rows, six in a row, on the ceremonially pure table before the Lord.
You must put pure frankincense on each row, and it will become a memorial portion for the bread, a gift to the Lord.
Each Sabbath day Aaron must arrange it before the Lord continually; this portion is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.
And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.
Whoever blasphemes the name of Yahweh is to be put to death;
“If a man kills anyone, he must be put to death.
And {he who kills} a domestic animal must repay [for] it life in place of life.
If a man inflicts an injury on his fellow citizen, just as he has done it must be done to him --
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth -- just as he inflicts an injury on another person that same injury must be inflicted on him.
And a killer of a domestic animal must repay [for] it, and a killer of a human shall be put to death.
{You must have} one norm; as [for] the alien, so it must be [for] the native, because I [am] Yahweh your God.'"
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them, 'When you enter the land that I am giving you, the land must observe a Sabbath to the Lord.
But in the seventh year it shall be {a Sabbath of complete rest} for the land--a Sabbath for Yahweh; you must not sow your field, and you must not prune your vineyard.
You must not reap your harvest's aftergrowth, and you must not harvest the grapes of your unpruned vines--it shall be {a year of complete rest} for the land.
"'You must count off seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, and the days of the seven weeks of years will amount to forty-nine years.
You must sound loud horn blasts -- in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, on the Day of Atonement -- you must sound the horn in your entire land.
And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and you shall proclaim a release in the land for all its inhabitants. It [is] a Jubilee; it shall be for you, and you shall return. You must return--everyone to his property and everyone to his clan.
{You shall have the fiftieth year as a Jubilee}; you must not reap its aftergrowth, and you must not harvest its unpruned vines.
Because it is a Jubilee, it shall be holy to you. You must eat its produce from the field.
"'In this year of jubilee you must each return to your property.
And when you sell something to your fellow citizen or [you] buy from your neighbor's hand, you must not oppress {one another}.
According to the number of years after the Jubilee, you shall
You must increase its price {according to a greater number of years}, but you must decrease its price {according to a lesser number of years}, because he is selling [its] yields to you.
And you must not oppress {one another}, but you shall revere your God, because I [am] Yahweh, your God.
" 'And you shall do my statutes, and you must keep my regulations, and you shall do them, so that you shall live {securely} on the land.
