But Jesus answering said to him: Permit it now; for thus it be comes us to perform fully every righteous act. Then he permitted him.

But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, and not sacrifice. For I came not to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.

He that receives a prophet be cause he is a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward: and he that receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward.

For verily I say to you, Many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear.

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that has ears to hear,- let him hear.
