Thematic Bible: Of Christ

Thematic Bible

He made my tongue like a sharp sword. He hid me in the palm of his hand. He made me like a sharpened arrow and hid me in his quiver.

The people were all amazed and questioned. What is this? What new doctrine is this? He has authority over the unclean spirits, and they obey him.

When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. He prayed and heaven was opened.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.

Soon Jesus came from Nazareth in the province of Galilee. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River.

For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven. It gives life to the world. They responded: Lord, always give us this bread. Jesus replied: I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not hunger. The one who puts active faith in me will never thirst.

He went to his own country and taught in the synagogue. They were astonished and asked where this man got this wisdom and these mighty works.

In him is concealed all the hidden treasures of God's wisdom and knowledge.

And Herod with his soldiers despised him with contempt, and mocked him. They arrayed him in magnificent apparel. Then they sent him back to Pilate.

They rose up to drive him out of the city. They led him to the top of the hill where their city was built to throw him down the hill.

After that Jesus walked in Galilee. He would not walk in Judea because the Jews looked for ways to kill him.

I know that you are Abraham's seed. Yet you seek to kill me. That is because my word has no place among you.

You have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in their distress, a shelter from the rainstorm and a shade from the heat. When the blast of the ruthless was like a winter rainstorm,

Jehovah said: I have seen how my people are suffering as slaves in Egypt. I have heard them beg for my help because of the way they are being mistreated. I feel sorry for them.

But he is compassionate. He forgave their sin. He did not destroy them. He restrained his anger many times. He did not display all of his fury.

For though he sends grief, still he will have pity in the full measure of his love.

I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them.

he will restore your fortunes. He will have mercy on you and gather you from all the nations of the world where he has scattered you.

Jehovah the God of their ancestors repeatedly sent messages through his prophets because he wanted to spare his people and his dwelling place.

But you, O Jehovah, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.

But after I have taken them away I will have mercy on them. I will bring each nation back to its own land and to its own country.

You will again have compassion on us. You will tread our iniquities under foot. You will throw all our sins into the depths of the sea.

Jesus called his disciples and said: I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.

Moved with compassion Jesus touched him. I want to, he said. Be healed!

Here is how you know the Spirit of God, every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh is from God. Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that you heard was coming and now it is already in the world.

Many of the rulers believed in him, although they did not confess their faith because of the Pharisees, for they would be expelled from the synagogue. They loved the glory from men more than the glory from God.

Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. He who does the will of my Father in heaven will enter. Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' I will say to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you workers of evil.'

I will tell my heavenly Father about everyone who confesses me (witnesses to others about me) before men. I will deny, before my heavenly Father, anyone who denies me before men.

John spoke about him and declared: He is the one I said would come after me. He is greater than I am because he lived before me. Out of the fullness of his undeserved kindness he gives us one blessing after another. The law came through Moses. Loving-kindness and truth came through Jesus Christ. read more.
No man has ever seen God. The only begotten God-like one who is closest to the Father (in the bosom of the Father) tells us about him. (Psalm 8:5)

The parents said these things because they feared the Jews. The Jews had agreed that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. So the parents said: Ask him, he is of age. So they called the man that was blind a second time, and said to him: Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner. read more.
He answered: I do not know if he is a sinner. One thing I know, I was blind and now I see. They asked: What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes? He answered them: I told you before and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Would you also become his disciples? Then they spoke abusively to him: You are his disciple! We are disciples of Moses. We know that God spoke to Moses. As for this man we do not know where he is from. The man answered: This certainly is a marvel that you do not know where he is from and yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners. If any man respects God and does his will, God listens to him. Since the world began no one ever heard of a man opening the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing. They answered: You were born in sin and you teach us? Then they threw him out. Jesus heard that they threw him out. He found him and said: Do you believe in the Son of God? He answered: Who is he Lord that I may believe in him? Jesus replied: You both see and hear him for he speaks with you. Lord I believe, he said. And he bowed down to him.

Then Philip began at the same Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. On their way, they came to a body of water and the eunuch said, See, here is water. What prevents me from getting baptized? Philip said: If you believe with all your heart, you may. He answered: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia. He witnessed to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

Paul said: John baptized with the baptism of repentance. He told the people they should believe in Jesus, the one who came after John. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and have active faith in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes for righteousness. And with the mouth one declares for salvation. The scripture says: No one believing on him shall be disappointed. (Isaiah 28:16)

The scriptures say: I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, chosen and precious (Isaiah 28:16). He who believes in him will not be disappointed (shamed).

Jesus said to them: Have you read the Scriptures, 'The stone the builders rejected has been made the chief cornerstone of the building. This was Jehovah's doing, and it is wonderful in our eyes.' (Isaiah 28:16)

This is the stone that was rejected by you builders. It became the chief corner stone.

Therefore this is what The Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation. It is a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.

Have you not read this Scripture: 'The stone the builders rejected was made the chief corner stone.' (Psalm 118:22, 23)

He looked at them and asked what does the scripture mean: The stone that the builders rejected the same was made the head of the corner?

Jesus called them and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and went with Jesus.

The next day he called his disciples to choose from them twelve, whom he named apostles (ambassadors) (messengers):

The next day he was reminded to go into Galilee. There he found Philip. Jesus said to him, Follow me.

When they entered the city they went to the upper chamber where they were staying. Included were Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealous one, and Judas the son of James.

The following are the names of the twelve apostles (ambassadors of the good news) (messengers): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,

The twelve included Simon whom he surnamed Peter,

The secret of godliness is great and it is without controversy. 'He (Jesus Christ) was manifested (revealed) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, and seen by angels. He preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, and received up in glory.'

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was like God (God-like). The same was in the beginning with God.

Soon the Son of man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God. They all asked: Are you the Son of God? He said to them: You say that I am.

If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me. But if I do them and you do not believe me, believe the works! That way you may know and understand that the Father is with me, and I am with the Father.

He that sees me sees (perceives) (discerns) (experiences) the one who sent me.

If you had known me, you would have perceived my Father also. From now on you understand him and have experienced him. Philip said: Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us. Jesus responded: Have I been with you so long a time and you do not know me Philip? He who has seen me has discerned (experienced) (perceived) the Father. And you say, show us the Father? read more.
Do you not believe that I am with the Father and that the Father is with me? The words I say to you are not from me, but the Father dwells with me and does his works.

All the things the Father has are mine. That is why I said [the Spirit] takes what I have and declares it to you.

There is another who testifies about me. I know that his evidence about me is true.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. The witness of God is this, that he gave witness concerning his Son.

Jehovah is exalted, for he dwells on high. He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.

Arise O Jehovah be exalted in your strength. We will sing to praise your power.

The princes of the people have assembled as the people of the God of Abraham. For the rulers (shields) (protectors) of the earth belong to God! He has ascended to the heights.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

You are my God, and I give you thanks. I will proclaim your greatness.

In that day you will say: Give thanks to Jehovah, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

You are the most handsome of men. You are an eloquent speaker. God has blessed you forever.

His mouth is very sweet: yes, he is altogether handsome. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

There were many who were appalled at him and his appearance was disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness.

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him. Nothing in his appearance will make us desire him.

He who sat there had the appearance of jasper and sardius stones. A rainbow that looked like an emerald surrounded the throne.

This means that he had to become like his brothers in every way, in order to be their faithful and merciful High Priest in his service to God, in order to offer a propitiatory sacrifice (pay atonement) (to make reconciliation) for the sins of the people.

He (God) put all things in subjection under his feet, and made him head over all things to the congregation, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills (accomplishes) (completes) all in all.

It is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.

Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you.

He poured Spirit out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior.

In that way he could make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy that he had prepared in advance for glory.

even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. For by grace (loving-kindness) you have been saved.

But the two are not the same, because God's gift (spiritual endowment) is not like Adam's sin. It is true that many people died because of the sin of that one man. But God's grace is much greater, and so is his gift to so many people through the loving-kindness of the one man, Jesus Christ.

If it is by grace then it is no longer on the basis of works. Otherwise grace is not grace (undeserved kindness). But if it is of works then it is not by grace. Otherwise works are no longer works.

For this reason it is by faith that it may be according to grace (divine influence) (loving-kindness). The promise may be sure to all descendants! This is not only to that which is of the law, but to that also which is by the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

It is not because you have been living right or because you are so honest that you enter to take possession of their land. It is because these people are so wicked that Jehovah your God is forcing them out of your way. It is also because Jehovah wants to confirm the promise he swore to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

O my God, incline your ear, and hear! Open your eyes, and behold our desolations and the city that is called by your name. We do not present our supplications before you because of our righteous merits, but according to your many mercies.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

I thank him that enabled me and counted me faithful, appointing me to his service, Christ Jesus our Lord. I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a violent aggressor. I was shown mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great. He will divide the spoils with the strong. This is because he poured out his life unto death. He was numbered with the transgressors. He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Who is this coming from Bozrah in Edom with his clothes stained bright red? Who is this dressed in splendor, going forward with great strength? It is I, Jehovah! I am coming to announce my victory. I am powerful enough to save you!

I say to you, one greater than the Temple is here.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation. She will condemn them for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the Wisdom of Solomon and one greater than Solomon is here now.

For this reason God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name that is above every name, (Relative authority given by Jehovah God, the Father to His Son) (Philipians 2:11) that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth,

(The Shulamite) Make haste, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag upon the mountains of spices.

My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he stands behind our wall, he looks through the windows, gazing through the lattice.

His citizens hated him. They sent a spokesman to him saying we do not want this man to rule us.

When the chief priests and officers saw him, they cried out: Impale him! Impale him! Pilate replied: Take him yourselves, and impale him for he has committed no crime!

Then he poured water into the basin and washed the disciples' feet. He wiped them with the towel he was wearing.

Why do you judge your brother? Why do you look down on your brother with contempt? We will all stand before the judgment seat of God (Theos).

Thanks to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then I can serve God's law only with my mind, while my human nature serves the law of sin.

Who has understood the mind of Jehovah, or has instructed him, as his counselor? (Isaiah 40:13) But we do have the mind (purpose) (feelings) (thoughts) (understanding) of Christ.

Since Christ suffered physically for us, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had. Whoever suffers physically has ceased from sin.

Evening came and the disciples approached Jesus and said: This place is desolate. Send the people away so they may go to the villages and buy themselves food.

Then he looked up to heaven and blessed the food. He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and broke the loaves into pieces and gave them to his disciples. He also divided the two fishes. He gave the food to his disciples to serve to the people.

As the day wore on the twelve came to him and said: Send the people away, that they may go into the villages and country nearby to find lodging and get food, for we are here in a lonely place.

Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming to him. He asked Philip: Where will we buy enough bread to feed them?

Just before morning, Jesus walked to them on the water.

When they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a spirit (an illusion) and screamed.

After they came down from the mountain a large crowd met him.

While he was speaking, an official came and paid him respect. He said: By now my daughter must be dead. Come and lay your hand on her and she will live.

Immediately the twelve-year old girl rose up and walked. And they were promptly amazed with a great amazement.

Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue came to Jesus. He fell down at Jesus' feet and implored him to come to his house.

They awoke him saying: Master, Master, we parish! He rebuked the wind and the raging of the water and there was calm.

He awoke from sleep and commanded the wind and sea. He commanded the sea to be at peace and rest. And he commanded the wind to go down and there was a great calm.

A woman who had a hemorrhage (chronic flow of blood) for twelve years came behind him. She touched the border of his garment.

There was a woman having an issue of blood twelve years. She spent all her money on physicians, and could not be healed by any.

When he arrived at the other side of the lake in the country of the Gadarenes two men possessed by demons came to him from out of the tombs. They were extremely violent, so no man could pass by that way.

A centurion's servant, who was highly regarded by him, was sick and at the point of death.

He is not here. He has arisen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was yet in Galilee.

No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I have authority (jurisdiction) (right) to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. I have received this commandment from my Father.

The evil spirit shook the man hard, gave a loud scream, and came out of him.

Jesus rebuked him, saying: Be quiet and come out of him. When the demon had thrown him down in front of them, he came out of him without harming him.

A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived at Bethany where his sisters Mary and Martha lived. This is the same Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair. It was her brother Lazarus who was sick. The sisters therefore sent for the Lord, They said: The one for whom you have great affection is sick. read more.
When Jesus heard it he said: This sickness will not end in death. It is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it. Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he heard the news he stayed where he was for two days. After this he said to the disciples: Let us go to Judea again. The disciples said: Rabbi, the Jews were seeking to stone you and you go there? Jesus answered: Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walks in the day he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him. Then he told them: Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. I go to wake him out of sleep. The disciples said, Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he would recover. Jesus spoke of his death. They thought he spoke of taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said plainly: Lazarus is dead! I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, for it will help you believe. Let us go to him. Thomas, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples: Let us also go that we may die with him. When Jesus arrived he found Lazarus had been in the grave four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. Many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to console them about their brother. Martha went out to meet Jesus and Mary sat in the house. Martha said to Jesus: Lord if you had been here my brother would not have died. Even now I know that what ever you ask of God he will give it to you. Jesus replied: Your brother will rise again. Martha exclaimed: I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said: I am the resurrection and the life. He who puts active faith in me will live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and puts active faith in me will never die. Do you believe this? She said: Yes Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who is to come into the world. After she said this she went away and secretly called her sister Mary. She said: The teacher is here and calls you. Mary got up quickly and went to him. (Now Jesus had not yet arrived at the village and was still at the place where Martha met him.) The Jews were with her in the house, consoling her. They saw Mary get up quickly and leave. So they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there. When Mary saw Jesus she fell down at his feet. She said: Lord; if you had been here my brother would not have died. Jesus groaned in his spirit and was troubled when he saw her weeping and the Jews who came with her weeping. He asked: Where have you laid him? They answered: Come and see Lord. Jesus wept. The Jews therefore said: Look how deeply he loved him! Some of them said: This man opened the eyes of the blind. Could he have prevented this man from dying? Again Jesus groaned in himself. He went to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid against it. Jesus said: Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man said: Lord by now the body has decayed for he has been dead four days. Jesus said to her: Did I not say that if you believe you shall see the glory of God? So they took away the stone. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said: Father, I thank you that you hear me. I knew that you always hear me. But because of the crowd that stands here I said it, that they may believe that you did send me. After he finished he cried out loud: Lazarus, come out! He that was dead came out. He was bound hand and foot with grave-clothes and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus commanded them: Unwrap him and let him go.

They mocked God's messengers. They despised his words, and made fun of his prophets until Jehovah became angry with his people. He could no longer heal them.

And others had trial of cruel mocking and scourging and bonds and imprisonment.

All who see me laugh at me. Insults pour from their mouths. They shake their heads and say:

So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

The soldiers mocked him and offered him vinegar,

Awake, awake! Clothe yourself with strength, O arm of Jehovah. Awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through?

Know and discern, that from the utterance of the commandment to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One (Messiah), the Leader: there shall be seven weeks, also sixty-two weeks. It shall be built again with a public square and moat, even in terrible times.

He found his brother Simon first. He said to him: We have found the Messiah (Christ).

He asked: What things? They said to him: The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene. He was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people.

Moses said to the fathers, 'Jehovah will raise up for your brothers a prophet like me. You must listen to all the things he speaks to you.' (Deuteronomy 18:18)

To the angel of the congregation in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation says this:

To the angel of the congregation in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation says this:

The royal scepter shall not depart from Judah. His descendants will always rule. Nations will bring him tribute and bow in obedience before him. This, until Shiloh comes and all will obey him.

Other people said: This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.

Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I will help you. This is the declaration of Jehovah, your Redeemer, and the Holy One of Israel.

That is where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

You will drink milk from other nations and nurse at royal breasts. Then you will know that I am Jehovah, your Savior, the Mighty One of Jacob, and your Defender (Protector).

He made his home in Nazareth. Thus the prophecy came true: He [Jesus] will be called a Nazarene.

Behold, I send my messenger! He will prepare the way before me. Seek Jehovah! He will suddenly come to his Temple along with the messenger of the covenant. He is one you desire, behold, he comes, said Jehovah of Hosts.

He has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, through whom he made the ages (Greek: aion: ages of time, perpetuity, worlds, generations, human entities).

The glory of Jehovah will be revealed and together all mankind will see it. For the mouth of Jehovah has spoken!

Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the nations.

Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the nations.

Being made perfect, he became the source (cause) (channel) (conduit) (pathway) (facilitator) of eternal salvation to all who obey him. (Psalm 3:8)

He was despised and rejected by men. He was a man of sorrows familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised. We did not consider him to be worth much.

Bethlehem in the land of Judah, you are not the least of the leading cities of Judah. A leader will come out of you. He will shepherd my people Israel.

You know the Word of God was sent to the children of Israel. He (Jehovah God) presented peace through the anointed Lord (or Master) of all, Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:36) (Jesus identified his father, Jehovah God, as Lord of all heaven and earth at Matthew 11:25)

In that day the Branch of Jehovah will be beautiful and glorious. And the fruit of the earth will be the delight (pride) (joy) and the adornment of the survivors of Israel.

What do you want with us Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are. You are the Holy One of God!

Now you will gather in troops, O daughter of troops! He has attacked us. They will strike the judge of Israel on the cheek with a rod.

Which of the prophets have your fathers not persecuted? They killed those who announced in advance the coming of the righteous one whom you have betrayed and murdered.

Truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the people of the nations and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you have anointed.

If you were cut out of the olive tree that is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a garden olive tree: how much more could these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Some of the branches are broken off. You, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them. Therefore you partake of the root and fatness of the olive tree with them.

Jesus did not trust his security to them for he understood all men.

We are sure you know all things and have no need that any man ask you questions. Because of this we believe you came from God.

The third time Jesus said to him: Simon, son of John, do you have affection for me? Peter was grieved. Because he said to him the third time, do you have affection for me? Peter replied: Lord, you know all things; you know I have affection for you! Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep.

They prayed: You O Jehovah, know the hearts of all men. Show us which of these men you choose.

I have trampled alone in the winepress. No one was with me. In my anger I trampled on people. In my wrath I stomped on them. Their blood splattered my clothes so all my clothing has been stained.

But with righteousness he will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth (power of his words), and with the spirit (breath) of his lips he will destroy the wicked.

These signs will accompany those who believe. They will cast out demons in my name. They will speak with new languages. They will pick up and handle serpents. Deadly drink will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

He operated in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places. It is far above all governments and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

Jesus responded to them: My Father works until now and I work. The Jews intensified their efforts to kill him for these reasons: he broke the Sabbath and he also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. Jesus answered them: Truly I tell you the Son can do nothing by himself. He sees the Father do something and then he does it. Whatever the Father does the Son does in like manner.

I give them eternal life. They will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father has given them to me. He is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one (united in purpose).

When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at what he taught. He taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the people of the nations might hear. I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion (Satan the Devil) (great danger) (1 Peter 5:8) (Psalm 22:21) (1 Thessalonians 2:18).

Who is this coming from Bozrah in Edom with his clothes stained bright red? Who is this dressed in splendor, going forward with great strength? It is I, Jehovah! I am coming to announce my victory. I am powerful enough to save you!

One day when he was teaching, Pharisees and doctors of the Law were in the crowd. People came from every village of Galilee, Judea and Jerusalem. God's power was with him to heal.

No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I have authority (jurisdiction) (right) to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. I have received this commandment from my Father.

So that you know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins [he turned and spoke to the paralytic or paralyzed man]: Get up, take your bed and go to your house.

Truly I tell you, the hour is coming when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear (listen) (understand) will live. The Son has life in himself just as the Father has life in himself. For the Father gave him life.

Do not wonder about this for the hour is coming when everyone in the grave will hear his voice. They will return. Those who did good will have the resurrection of life. Those who did evil will receive the resurrection of judgment.

Christ will, through his power, bring everything under his authority. He will change our humble bodies and make them like his glorified (glorious) body (literally and figuratively: body of his glory). He is able to subject all things to himself.

Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. Your young people will come to you in holy splendor like dew from the womb of the dawn (in the early morning).

Christ will, through his power, bring everything under his authority. He will change our humble bodies and make them like his glorified (glorious) body (literally and figuratively: body of his glory). He is able to subject all things to himself.

When you assemble in the name and with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, I will be with you in spirit.

Jesus has obtained a more excellent ministry. The covenant that he arranged between God and his people is a better one, because it is based on promises of better things.

It said: Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven congregations in Asia: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.

He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks from an earthly viewpoint. He who comes from heaven is superior.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know for sure that God has made that same Jesus, whom you impaled, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 10:36)

He has become better than the angels and has inherited a more excellent name than theirs.

He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses. This is because the builder of the house has more honor than the house.

You will be called the priests of Jehovah. You will be spoken of as ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of nations, you will boast in their riches.

Here is a summary of the things we are discussing: We have this kind of high priest. He sat down at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in heaven.

Christ came as the high priest of the good things that are now here. He also went into a much better tent that is not made by humans and does not belong to this creation.

having a high priest over the house of God,

This means that he had to become like his brothers in every way, in order to be their faithful and merciful High Priest in his service to God, in order to offer a propitiatory sacrifice (pay atonement) (to make reconciliation) for the sins of the people.

We have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, so let us hold fast our confession. We do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our infirmities (weaknesses). He was tested in all things like ourselves. Yet he was without sin!

That is where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Also Christ did not glorify himself to be made a high priest. It was God who said to him: You are my Son; I today have become your father.

God did this to offer encouragement so we may rely on the hope offered to us. We have taken refuge in that hope and it is impossible for God to lie. These two things can never be changed.

You will go up in flames like straw and hay! You have rejected the law of the holy God Jehovah the All-Powerful Holy One of Israel. Now your roots will rot, and your blossoms will turn to dust.

To whom can I speak and give warning that they may hear? Their ears are closed and they cannot listen. Behold, the word of Jehovah has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a scribe's knife and throw them into the fire in the fireplace. He did this until the whole scroll was burned up.

This is what the Holy One of Israel says: You have rejected this warning, trusted oppression and deceit, and you leaned upon them for support.

Each time I speak, I cry aloud. I proclaim violence and destruction! For me the word of Jehovah has resulted in reproach and derision all day long.

They mocked God's messengers. They despised his words, and made fun of his prophets until Jehovah became angry with his people. He could no longer heal them.

How long, you simple (stupid) (foolish) ones, will you love simplicity (foolishness) (stupidity)? The scoffers delight in scoffing. Fools hate knowledge!

So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

I called you! I stretched out my hand to you. You paid no attention to me.

My people did not listen to my voice. Israel did not obey me.

The Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God and were not baptized by him.

Everyone in the synagogue was angry when they heard these things. They rose up to drive him out of the city. They led him to the top of the hill where their city was built to throw him down the hill.

First he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

Jesus said to them: Have you read the Scriptures, 'The stone the builders rejected has been made the chief cornerstone of the building. This was Jehovah's doing, and it is wonderful in our eyes.' (Isaiah 28:16)

Everyone in the city came out to meet Jesus. They begged him to go away from their country.

They cried out in unison: Take this man away and release to us Barabbas!

Elisha left Jericho to go to Bethel. On the way some boys came out of a town and taunted and made fun of him. They shouted: Get out of here, baldy!

Some mocked when they heard about the resurrection of the dead. Yet others said: We will hear you again concerning this.

Now, Sanballat, hearing that we were building the wall, was very angry, and in his wrath made sport of the Jews.

He sees that there is no one to help. He is astounded that there is no one to intercede. So he saves him with his own power. His righteousness supports him.

The days are coming, declares Jehovah, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.

I, Jehovah, have called you and have given you power to see that justice is done on earth. I will make a covenant with all peoples and bring light (truth) (light of instruction) (Psalm 27:1) to the nations through you.

When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. He prayed and heaven was opened.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.

Soon Jesus came from Nazareth in the province of Galilee. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River.

You have not desired sacrifice and meal offering. You have opened my ears. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

He emptied (humbled) himself by taking the form of a servant. He was made in the likeness of men. He obtained the appearance as a man, humbled himself, and became obedient even to death, yes, death on the stake.

When Christ came into the world he said: 'Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but you have prepared a body for me.

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow (neighbor) (companion), said Jehovah of Hosts: Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered! I will turn my hand upon (against) the little ones.

Jesus said to them: All of you will fall away because of me tonight. It is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

Truly I tell you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs up some other way is a thief and a robber. He who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The doorkeeper opens to him and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his sheep by name and leads them. read more.
When all of his own are out he leads them. The sheep follow him for they know his voice. They will not follow a stranger but will flee from him. They do not know the voice of a stranger. They did not understand this illustration Jesus spoke to them. Jesus explained: I am the door of the sheep. Thieves and robbers came in place of me but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If any man enters through me he will be saved. He will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes to steal, and kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired man owns no sheep. He is not the shepherd. He sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheep. The wolf snatches them, and scatters them. He leaves because he is a hired man and does not care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me. Just as the Father knows me I know the Father! I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I will also bring them. They will hear my voice and they will become one flock, one shepherd.

He gave orders to the disciples to tell no man he was the Christ.

Jesus told him not to tell anyone. Show yourself to the priests and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

He told him to tell no one and go and show himself to the priest. Then he was to make a cleansing offering, just as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

Their eyes were opened. Jesus strictly warned them: Do not let anyone know about this.

He commanded them not to make him known.

He gave them firm orders not to tell any man about this. Then he commanded that she be given something to eat.

He commanded them not to tell any man.

He warned them not to tell anyone where he was.

When they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone what they saw, until the Son of man has risen from the dead.

The chief priests accused him of many things.

The high priest stood up and said to him: Have you no answer? What is it these say against you? Jesus said nothing. The high priest said to him: I put you on oath, by the living God, that you will tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.

I see him, but not now! I behold him, but not near! A star shall come forth from Jacob. A scepter shall rise from Israel and shall crush through the forehead of Moab. It will tear down all the sons of Sheth.

Christ came as the high priest of the good things that are now here. He also went into a much better tent that is not made by humans and does not belong to this creation.

There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.

The Holy Spirit revealed that the way into the Most Holy Place was not open while the tent was still in use. This is a symbol that points to the present time. It means that the offerings and animal sacrifices presented to God cannot make the worshiper's heart perfect,

John, to the seven congregations in Asia: May you have grace and peace from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.

After this I saw a great crowd that no man could number. It was from all nations, and tribes, and people, and tongues. It stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes. They had palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying: Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. All the angels stood around the throne, and the elders and the four living creatures. They fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God. read more.
They said: Amen! Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen. One of the elders asked me: Who are these dressed in white robes? And where are they from? I said to him: Sir, you know. He said to me: These are the ones who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Because of this they are before the throne of God. They serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tent over (dwell among) them. They will hunger no more, nor thirst any more; neither shall the sunlight beat down on them, nor any heat. The Lamb who is in the middle of the throne will feed them and lead them to living fountains of water. God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Immediately I was in the spirit. In front of me was a throne in heaven and someone sat on the throne. He who sat there had the appearance of jasper and sardius stones. A rainbow that looked like an emerald surrounded the throne. Around the throne were twenty-four elders sitting on thrones. They were dressed in white with crowns of gold on their heads. read more.
Lightnings and thunders and voices came from the throne. There were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne. These are the seven Spirits of God. A sea of crystal like glass was in front of the throne. In the center around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. The first living creature was like a lion. The second living creature was like a young bull. The third living creature had a face like a man. And the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures has six wings. They are full of eyes around and within. Never resting day or night, they say: Holy, holy, holy, Jehovah God the Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come. When these living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, The twenty-four elders fall down before the one seated on the throne. They worship him who lives forever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

If you were cut out of the olive tree that is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a garden olive tree: how much more could these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

This was in the middle of the street of the city. The tree of life was on each side of the river. It produced twelve kinds of fruit and yielded the fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Otherwise he would have to suffer often from the founding of the world. He has presented himself once at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the cultivator. He takes away the branches in me that do not bear fruit. He cleans every branch that bears fruit. That way it may bear more fruit.

The disciple Ananias was in Damascus. The Lord spoke to Ananias in a vision: Ananias. He replied: Yes, I am here, Lord. The Lord said to him, Arise, and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus for he is praying. He has seen a man named Ananias in a vision. He came in and laid his hand on him that he might receive his sight.

Being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. He said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.

And again: when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says: Let all the angels of God pay him homage.

Jesus met them and greeted them. They approached and took hold of his feet and kissed them in adoration.

Filled with joy, they bowed down to him in adoration. Then they returned to Jerusalem.

When he took the book the four living creatures and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Every one of them had harps, and golden bowls full of incense. These are the prayers of the holy ones.
