'Knew' in the Bible
saying, “If you knew this day what would bring peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.
And they answered, that they knew not whence it was,
Then the scribes and the chief priests looked for a way to get their hands on Him that very hour, because they knew He had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.
And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.
But all who knew Him, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water.”
So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
But he that had been healed knew not who it was, for Jesus had slidden away, there being a crowd in the place.
And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
Therefore, when Jesus knew that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He withdrew again to the mountain by Himself.
The next day, the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea knew there had been only one boat. They also knew that Jesus had not boarded the boat with His disciples, but that His disciples had gone off alone.
When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
Then they asked Him, “Where is Your Father?”“You know neither Me nor My Father,” Jesus answered. “If you knew Me, you would also know My Father.”
They knew not that of the Father he spake to them;
This similitude spake Jesus to them, and they knew not what the things were that he was speaking to them;
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
Now his disciples knew not these things at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him.
Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into His hands, that He had come from God, and that He was going back to God.
For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
If you--all of you--knew me, you would fully know my Father also. From this time forward you know Him and have seen Him."
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them , and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.
'Righteous Father, also the world did not know Thee, and I knew Thee, and these have known that Thou didst send me,
And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
Then Jesus, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him, came and asked them, "Who are you looking for?"
After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, “I’m thirsty!”
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
“Come and have breakfast,” Jesus told them. None of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” because they knew it was the Lord.
Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn an oath to him to seat one of his descendants on his throne.
And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.
Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.
Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
and having gone forth, he was following him, and he knew not that it is true that which is done through the messenger, and was thinking he saw a vision,
And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
And when the Jews from Thessalonica knew that also in Berea was the word of God declared by Paul, they came thither also, agitating the multitudes;
This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught the things about Jesus accurately, although he knew only John’s baptism.

And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
God did not cast away His people whom He knew before; have ye not known -- in Elijah -- what the Writing saith? how he doth plead with God concerning Israel, saying,
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
And recognizing the grace [that God had] bestowed on me, James and Cephas (Peter) and John, who were reputed to be pillars [of the Jerusalem church], gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we could go to the Gentiles [with their blessing] and they to the circumcised (Jews).
Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Since I was confident that you would obey, I wrote to you, because I knew that you would do even more than what I am asking you to do.
For in fact you shared the sufferings of those in prison, and you accepted the confiscation of your belongings with joy, because you knew that you certainly had a better and lasting possession.
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
So remember the heights from which you have fallen, and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will] and do the works you did at first [when you first knew Me]; otherwise, I will visit you and remove your lampstand (the church, its impact) from its place—unless you repent.
He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming, I will give to him to eat from the hidden manna, and will give to him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, that no one knew except him who is receiving it.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
