'Waters' in the Bible
God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it separate water from water.
God called the dry ground "land" and the gathered waters he called "seas." God saw that it was good.
The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.
The waters completely overwhelmed the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.
The waters completely inundated the earth so that even all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.
The waters rose more than twenty feet above the mountains.

The Lord said to Moses, "Extend your hand toward the sea, so that the waters may flow back on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen!"

Cries of anguish raised from Heshbon and Elealeh will be sounded as far as Jahaz. They will be sounded from Zoar as far as Horonaim and Eglath Shelishiyah. For even the waters of Nimrim will be dried up.

Samaria and its king will be carried off like a twig on the surface of the waters.
You threw me into the deep waters, into the middle of the sea; the ocean current engulfed me; all the mighty waves you sent swept over me.
