'Friend' in the Bible
The Lord said, “Shall I keep secret from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do,
And Abimelech hath gone unto him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath his friend, and Phichol head of his host;
Now at that time, Judah went away from his brothers and became the friend of a man of Adullam named Hirah.
And in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah's wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.
And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman's hand: but he found her not.

This is the way to conduct remission: every creditor must cancel the loan that his friend borrowed, and he must not pressure his friend or brother to repay it, because remission to the LORD will be proclaimed.
"Now this is the situation for any killer who flees there to live: suppose he strikes his friend unwittingly, not having hated him previously.

But Samson's wife was given to his companion, whom he had used as his friend.

And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king's friend:
King Hiram of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon when he learned that Solomon had been anointed king to replace his father, because Hiram had been David's lifelong friend.
